Reviews for Fallout® 2: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game

Keeping The Flame Alive

Fallout 2 retains most of what made Fallout an instant classic, improving slightly on visuals, and expanding on an already well developed world. In this regard, Fallout 2 feels more like an expansion pack, but it packs a lot of content that I still see it as its own game. The writing in this game is still pretty solid, and while it certainly feels old, the graphics and music are both still good and fit the theme of the game pretty well. It may not have had the charm I felt in the first Fallout game, but it's still deserving of a spot in any game library out there.

Post Apocalyptic Fun

Fallout 2 is legendary among RPG's. Set in Post Nuclear War America, the game offers you so much to enjoy, from the great story to the deep gameplay. Also, you are, as usual in western RPG, totally free to play your character the way you like. Sure, it's old. Sure it doesn't look so good now. But this is a masterpiece. Go on player. The Wasteland is waiting for you!

War never changes...

This game is one of the best cRPG's out there, along with its predecessor - Fallout. If you ever played games like Baldur's Gate, Planescape: Torment or Arcanum this game is for you. If the titles above don't mean much to you, still you should try this game. Even if you haven't played the first Fallout. Why should you play Fallout 2? Interesting plot, many finely written dialogues, hundreds of places to visit, lots of detailed characters. To go into more details - you can play as you wish. the game is one of the first true sandbox cRPG's. Just create your character and go exploring! Become the ultimate villain who will be shot on sight in most of the settlements. Or play as a saint. You may also disregard everything and stay neutral. And each time you start a new game, make brand new character, you will encounter something you haven't seen before. It's the game's replayability. Each time you play and make different decisions, you may(or may not)experience something new. One word for someone who plunges into the game for the first time: experiment! Don't be afraid of trying an unorthodox approach. You may be rewarded in a most unusual way. Fallout 2 rewards explorers in many ways. You can find unique items, or gain a follower. Graphics and music might be old. Still there is this attention to details which draws the eye. A lone rubber, some cans, grass, posters on the wall. The world feels dirty. And alive... ...and it's only your decisions that determine if YOU stay alive. Because this wasteland is a harsh, unforgiving place where remnants of human race wage war against everything else and themselves. And war... war never changes.
