Buy a ticket and hop onboard the Duchess Gambit, as Tobar the Ferryman takes you to the strange seaside town of Point Lookout. What secrets does the dilapidated boardwalk hold? Who lives in the sprawling mansion? Why is the Punga Fruit so important? And what horrors lie in the depths of the murky swamp? Point Lookout is the most open-ended DLC yet, and allows you to explore an entirely new and expansive gameplay area any way you’d like. A completely new quest line allows you uncover the town’s hidden secrets, and wield powerful new weapons like the Double-Barrel Shotgun against the swamp’s dangerous, and deformed, denizens. So venture to Point Lookout, if you dare. Just pray it’s not a one-way trip.

This is pretty much a better version of Far Harbor - it changes the environment from Washington to swamps, which are pretty big and really nice change of environment, especially if you got bored with wasteland. The writing is pretty solid as far as DLC goes for this game and it is thousand times better than Mothership Zeta or Operation Anchorage, because here it is more of the awesome Fallout 3 RPG and not corridor shooter. Atmosphere is great in this one. Strongly recommended.
Anyone who is tried of the post-apocalyptic Washington D.C. ruins must come to the swampy and murky marshland of Point Lookout. None of the nuclear missiles directly struck the area but the radiation is still influential as ever. While there are technically no new mutants (the same old ghouls and mirelurks though some of them have swamp variants), the swampfolk are new enemies and are quite hard to kill. Brute firepower is not enough to kill one, let alone, a group of them. One will need to utilize effective tactics to ensure their bodies stay in the mud. Otherwise, there is a lunatic tribe that tries to kill a prominent occupant of a mansion to which the Lone Wanderer is drawn to at the beginning of the game. Unfortunately, the main storyline is very short (can be completed in one hour if the other side quests are to be ignored). However, to make up for that, the DLC does offer a good number of side quests and new weapons to mow down enemies. Still, taking a cruise far away from familiar lands and landing on a coastline separated from D.C. is refreshing for a change and one can always return. I give this DLC an A- for having a memorable atmosphere and wide terrain but its length is pretty short and most of the potential is not felt easily.
Point Lookout is an amazing experience. A dlc for Fallout 3, you just so happen upon a ferry in the Capital Wasteland that will take you to new swampy island (1/5 the size of the Capital Wasteland) where more adventure awaits. Point Lookout is a very memorable experience and includes more great missions to an already great game. You will sink hours of your time in this game. The atmosphere of the island is superb and creepy. New swamp enemies await. The locations are some of the best in FO3. Watch out for Blackhall Manor and Calvert Mansion! And have fun in Point Lookout.
Fallout 3: Point Lookout rates as being not just the best DLC content for the game, but one of the best extra content packages for any game. Point Lookout is set on an island outside of Washington D.C, which you will reach by boat. Once on the island, you are put In an immersive landscape, complete with boardwalk style town, lighthouse, swamps, and other interesting areas. The area will be crawling with new creatures and odd looking deformed humans. Several interesting new objectives are the goal in this, and many of them are either funny or a little disturbing. In comparison to The Pitt or Operation Anchorage, Point Lookout is much more detailed and worthwhile. The atmosphere, storylines, new content and overall feel of Point Lookout is terrific, and well worth the trip.
One of the best expansion of fallout 3! When you start this DLC, you'll go to a new island. This island does have alot of fog, there also are alot of new creatures, which are done really well. If you want to explore that's alright, you can get 10-20 hours out of this expansion. The story-line isn't the best in the world, but the map is made well.
