Final Fantasy III tells the story of 4 warriors chosen by the light to save the world form the evil, so we can say it's a classic FF tale, as in early Squaresoft games the story is rather simple but interesting enough to keep on playing, game main selling point is the battle system where character can change their job which allows them to use different abilities during battle. This add nice depth to the game, overall it's a solid title, simple but entertaining!
A FF classic game, sure it does bring a lot of memory to those who have played FF games older than FF7. Consider the the original game was published nearly 2 decades ago, it is understandable that the game play and plot pale in comparison to current JRPG. However, the simplicity and easy to understand make it perfect for any beginners to the series. However, the price is clearly rather high. The PC port feels a bit clumsy to control. There is not much graphic options. The PC graphic and design are similar to iOS/Android port, thus playing on big screen makes it look uglier. I
I really liked playing this game as a kid, and now that it's come to PC, it's awesome to play a much more updated version of the game. The Storyline of Final Fantasy games are usually quite well developed, and the characters are pretty cool, but this price seems a little TOO high for a game so old. I mean, I could literally go and get this much cheaper on a DS console, or on an iPod for half the price, but since this IS a PC version, I suppose they think they can get their money's worth out of the game. Oh well, it's still a great game.
FF3 was never great as 4, 6 or 10. Also graphics has been changed to 3D, which isn't necessary good for everyone, not to mention lack of original language and touchscreen like menus, which look horrible on PC. This release doesn't encourage players to buy it, because of it's quite high price and fact this port doesn't grant anything new. Someone who launches game for the first time could feel cheated seeing beautiful intro, yet in-game graphics doesn't look anything like it.
Final Fantasy III was the only FF that wasn't present on West market. Now Square-Enix did this good remake, with enhanced graphic, a story (because the one of the original was very weak) achievements and more. The game is good, based on job system in which each character has a specific role. Give it a try if you loved other Final Fantasy titles.
