If you enjoy the side scrolling shooting games, this is a very well made game in the metal slug/contra field of play. There are a number of different type of weapons that keep the game fresh along with several types of enemies, bosses (need more bosses though), and basically a run and shoot gameplay that is satisfying to play. It's relatively short. Five to six hours realistically, but I think it's for the best it doesn't overstay its welcome. It keeps the game from getting boring. The game knows what it does best and sticks to it. It's definitely a recommend if you enjoy these types of games. Graphics 8 very clean artstyle Story 6.5 well, I give them credit for having a story even if it's pretty barebone. Gameplay 8 Fun while it lasts Music/VO 6 Good voice acting, music gets old quick. Replay 6 There are reasons to play again, different skins, but to be honest there's not a lot to come back to once you are done. Total: 34.5/50 69%
This game was highly enjoyable through the time I have played it. It had everything I expected with a mobster and the mafia. It had a satisfying ending. For some reason I really liked the name Vinnie Cannoli and now I'll want to try Cannoli. I would recommend this game to my friends because of its art, gameplay, story, and mobsters. I also hear skins are coming, so YAY. I really don't have anything negative to say on this game's behalf because I enjoyed the game so much.
If someone told me that a 2D survival horror game could be fun and cool just a few days ago, I'd laugh hard. But when I got this game, installed it and played it for a while, I was quietly amazed on how great it looks. Its fun (for a 2D game) is on the highest possible level and enemies get crazy from second to second. They kinda remind me of the "legendary" (surely legendary) Left 4 Dead. The game has beautiful graphics and sounds and the effort put into it is obvious on the first look. It's definitely one of the best 2D games that exist. If you love zombies and/or blood, this game is right for you! Hard to believe, but there are really 2D games that are worth $10.
Guns, Gore & Cannoli is special. Most survival horror games nowadays prefer the stealth approach of the genre or they follow the trend of titles like Amnesia, Outlast, Slender etc... Not this game. Guns, Gore & Cannoli takes the form of a run&gun game a la Contra or Metal Slug. It's beautifully made and pretty intense. Also you can play with three of your friends, making the game some sort of 2D version of Left 4 Dead. It's insanely fun.
