"It's going to pull in a whole new batch of players who, like me, have been intrigued by Guns of Icarus but would prefer to focus more on teamwork than competition with real people." - Destructoid
"It's basically PvE Guns of Icarus and it's pretty dope...they introduced new ships, new guns, new looks for people...I've always said the best part about that game is being like hey gang, want to go blow shit up and be awesome sky pirates?" - Jesse Cox

Pre-order Guns of Icarus: Alliance and join the fight!
Guns of icarus is a pretty chaotic game. This is part of the fun, yet, sometimes it WouldVe been fun, to just enjoy it...you know? Have a mission that isn't just chatoc slaughter. In this expansion, you will get to fight against an AI, and it is a pretty tough opponent, yet if you have a good enough team, you can take it every time. Some of the battles are hard, some of them easier, yet, when your airship is on fire at 3 parts minimum, you will never like you1re haveing an easy time. As always, better with friends. This game is really frustrating alone, or with people that won't communicate. So yeah, get a team, or at least a microphone.
Since I loved the base game for a long time, It has taken quite long to release and I had almost given up hope to be honest but it's finally out and it's good. This review is mostly for owners of Guns Of Icarus who are debating whether they should buy this or not... honestly it depends if you enjoy playing GoI. The concept and the community behind GoI is great... the thing that was missing the most was some kind of goal to work towards in my opinion. This has been fixed with Alliance. You have Co-op missions (which can be downright unfair and hard if you don't know what you're doing) and you have a large world map full of territories you can conquer for your faction. Bonus here is that one of the things that were a little bit off putting for new players was sitting in lobbies, waiting for people to slowly flow in and then possibly get stomped by experienced players... this is elegantly solved by being able to do missions at your own pace and gather proper experience with the ships and weapons you'll be handling. Speaking of Factions, there are 4 of them and each one will eventually grant you access to a new weapon and also a new ship. There is more purpose, more motivation, more things to fight for... and it's done well. But at the end it's like Guns Of Icarus. If you did not enjoy GoI, chances are Alliance will not make you like it. If you really like GoI and you were simply looking for an excuse to play again, by all means, grab it and hop on in. One and a half thumbs up.
Alliance is a fantastic expansion to Guns of Icarus Online, adding loads of content and breathing new life into one of my favorite PC games of the last five years. It still offers the same nail-biting team based gameplay, but with greatly expanded variety including new game modes, ships, weapons, difficulty modes, and compelling new enemy types from tiny bomber planes to huge bosses. Alliance also adds a new world map with different territories for your faction to control and the whole thing just makes the GOI universe feel much more real. All things considered I really enjoy the new Alliance expansion for GOI and I highly suggest it to anyone who loves coop play and big team battles.
Guns of Icarus Alliance is a great dlc that greatly improves what is the base game and the best in the three classes introduced which are are gunner and mechanic. The three are capable of performing the different operations required during the battle, such as piloting the ship, firing their cannons or repairing their damage. However, each earns a bonus for its core activity. The gunner, for example, can fire special projectiles. The mechanic, on the other hand, can repair faster and use a second repair tool, such as a fire extinguisher.
