Painkiller+Quake+Doom

If you like old school first person shooters there is a big chance you've already played Painkiller. Painkiller was a good game, but it was just a bunch of arenas and no sense of progression, just taking down all the enemies and proceeding to the next area to repeat the process. You probably missed some story (I mean, in-game story), or at least some empty hallways to relax between fights. That's what Hard Reset is about. Hard Reset is a mixture of different classic FPS. Quake, Painkiller, Doom, Terminator and even Blade Runner are some of the words that crossed my mind while I was playing it. I love cyberpunk, so, I was really excited about the game when I started it. If you are into this kind of genres Hard Reset may be one of the best games from its genre (not as many options as it might look). However, I got to admit I was expecting a little more. Even though this is a hardcore game for old schoolers, I missed some structure in it. I missed some creativity in the game and something a bit different than just shooting at your enemies. Well, I actually missed many other things like the crouching button or more weapons, but the game is pretty cool doing what it does.

When DOOM meets The Terminator

Hard Reset is an oldschool First Person Shooter and when I say oldschool I mean "Like DOOM or Quake". It's an old-fashioned game with a straightforward concept : you explore the maps and kill everything in sight. Just like DOOM, except that you won't shoot demons this time. The story is pretty basic. You're Fletcher, some "cop" under the orders of The Corporation. Your job is to protect Bezoar City (The Cyberpunk city where the game takes place) from the robots coming from the outside. It's man versus machine all over again. The maps are linear but there is a good chunk of secret to discover in each level and the EX mode gives you the right incentive to start the game over and over again. The gameplay is intense and well-crafted. The game looks pretty decent. And the game is even longer than before in this Extended Edition. What else would you ask for?
