The most violent adventure game of all time comes to Steam!
You wake up one morning to a town full of strangers and inexplicable sights. You share your home with your not so perfect family and your supposed fiancee lives next door. Then you are plunged into a nightmare! Your fiancee is missing and you find a hideous bloody skull and spinal chord draped across her bed! Is it hers? What is going on? The only clue left behind is an engraved invitation for you to enter...
THE ORDER OF THE HARVEST MOON
...a mysterious organisation that controls the town in way you don't (or can't) understand.
Is the order behind this gruesome execution? What are their motives?
One thing is certain, you're going to get to the bottom of this killing, or die trying.
Harvester is an old school point and click full of conspiracy themes and gruesome imagery. You make your way through classic object-combining puzzles, conversations with different characters and some combat segments. For me, the best was the sense of humour, the tacky and bizarre atmosphere, the gory b-movie styled cut-scenes and the fact that it was dubbed to several languages. The music and the FLV graphics may horrify younger players (and bring nostalgic tears to older ones) but the story wil surely hook everyone looking for a dark themed adventure full of black humour, bizarre characters and situations and hours of entertainment.
It's hard to describe such a game. It's an adventure - horror game, filled with different scenes from different moves and killing videos in the begining. Once you start you'll realise that the game actually has a combat system which has 3 options to punch and only punch. Clicking near the head- punch up, At the middle of the body - hitting the enemies stomach, and down the leg, hitting their legs. You are using the mouse only and moving with it, the movement is pretty wooden, when you click on an item it shows it's definition and from where and how it came. It's one of those games where you have to loot, to find what you have to in order to continue to the next stage. The voice which are used are pretty good, the graphics are just different pictures of the house at the begining, which is understandable as the game is made at 1996. There are dialogs and a pictures of known people next to them. The game is not short at all. If you are looking for an old adventure game go for Harvester. It has that old styled music which no one uses already. The animations are short and not filled with sense, however the game by itself and it's story line and drawings is good.
