you cannot choose what weapon that you want to bring with... in story mode you'll be focused on the scenario that created by IO interactive... there are also a mode called "contract"... you can make your own contract with custom payment (some dirty people make a high price contract with an easy kill to make them rich)
i'm a big fan of hitman, and i played all the games back on ps3 and i have to admit... this is the best of then all, not just the game it deserved but also a fresh start. some people may say is a bad thing to move away from the roots but i actually think they did very well. great graphics and story. and with the multiplayer it gets even better. i rate this a 10/10
the hitman i waited for, look it's not a perfect game and i know it. the story-line is too short, the missions doesnt require too much planning and most of the time the stealth is not an option. on the other hand the combat system is perfected and gmaeplay get it must needed boost. for som reason a have a very specific idea for how an assassination game should look like and it is finally starting to get close to that set idea.
To begin with, don't care about other low rating reviews. People who wrote that can't deal with the fact that to have a tighter, more logical story line (if there was ever one in the previous tittles), the sacrifice of the so call "open world" is necessary. Their reviews are biased because they rate the game based on how it is expected to inherit from the earlier tittle. But game review should concerned more with the gameplay, the vibe a game brings. And, pretty much this game is a epitome of third person, stealth genre. Trust me when I say IF you want stealth game, safest bet is SquareEnix, second best bet is SquareEnix also. This game, despite not being open world, offers a variety of way to take care of your target, from food poisoning to sparta kick him in to a hole full of electric cable. So yeah, the not offering freedom argument is pretty invalid. In conlcusion, trust me, this is THE GAME
The earlier Hitman games required a lot more planning on your part to kill your targets and took place in larger environments, the problem was they were extremely buggy games that had a lot of problems. Blood Money improved on the formula but made it much easier for you to take an approach that just involved killing everyone. Hitman absolution makes the run in with guns blazing approach even easier to do, both due to making you even more lethal and because the levels are significantly smaller than they used to be and the game is more on rails than before. I enjoy the new gun mechanic where your aim becomes better if you slowly squeeze the trigger before firing, good for regular weapons but even better for sniper rifles where it feels like a more natural way to get off an accurate shot. In addition to the gunplay, you can wear multiple disguises in each level, knock people out or strangle them, get in quick time melee fights, hide bodies, and pick up melee weapons either to attack with or they can be used as silent deadly throwing weapons. On the easier settings you are given an instinct meter which can be used to identify points of interest, to slow down time while shooting, or to help you sneak by suspicious characters while in disguise. On the lower difficulties this bar will refill as you perform actions but higher settings will limit or remove the feature entirely. High visual and audio production values and varied environments help to keep things interesting. The game is not that long but a mode, contracts, allows people to play through levels marking up to three targets for assassinations and choosing an item that they are supposed to be killed by, once complete these games can be played by other people adding more variety to the game and allowing you to compete by trying to get higher scores, but you will have to play in the same environments you were in during the single player game. Weapons that you finish missions with can be kept and equipped in later missions, or can be bought and used in the contracts mode. Some of the areas are larger in scope and allow you to approach targets in a variety of ways but many of the areas are smaller more linear areas with fewer paths and options to take advantage of. The story itself is nothing that interesting but it will likely cause you to want to kill the mostly cartoonishly evil villains. Like most games where stealth is involved the enemy AI is not usually very effective once the shooting starts. Not sure what was up with the sexy nuns.
