After having conquered hundreds of thousands of die hard survival enthusiasts and fans of dark post-apocalyptic fictions on consoles, I Am Alive, the ground breaking survival adventure game is finally coming to PC digital platforms.
I Am Alive casts the player as a lone survivor in a believable, dark and insecure post-apocalyptic world. One year after the Event, a worldwide cataclysmic event that wiped most of the human race, a man struggles for survival in a desolate city as he tries to reunite with his long lost wife and daughter.
Enhanced for the PC
More ways to experience survival. The new “Easy” mode provides infinite retries and a slightly softer, more forgiving introduction to I Am Alive. With the Replay mode, go back and replay any level any time to uncover more secrets, alternate path, and hidden resources.
Explore the dark, atmospheric post-apocalyptic world in higher resolutions and sharper graphics than ever, with fully customizable graphics settings.
Fully configurable mouse, keyboard and game pad support to play the way you like.
Explore the destroyed city. Find your way in murky streets covered in toxic dust and rubble. Climb the ruins of the last standing skyscrapers to find the few last unspoiled resources. Watch out for survivors - Some are friendly and need assistance, some are scared, most are outright hostile and use group tactics to hunt you down.
Intimidation-based combats: Combat is deadly and ammo is scarce. Use deception to deal with groups of enemies while trying to keep your precious few bullets, but watch out for the toughest ones may call your bluff.
Extreme Survival: Every effort has its cost. Manage your stamina, your few precious resources and your supplies skilfully.

This game was a lot worse than I thought it would be. The graphics are very drab and uninspired, making the game world unappealing and visually dead. As for the game, exploration and stamina management are key here. You will not do anywhere near as much shooting or fun segments as you would expect in a post apocalyptic game. You will spend at least 75% of your time climbing and traversing poles and balance beams. The game overall feels very unfinished and rough. The controls are not very responsive and lead to unfair deaths. The story is lacking. And the game itself is very short, taking only a couple hours to finish. I finished in around 3 or 4 hours and was never impressed with anything I did in this game and it didn't leave me with any wow moments. I wouldn't recommend this game, even on sale. It seemed like it had great potential, but it suffered from a lack of imagination, creativity, and budget. Nothing was very well executed in this game. It's just very bland and uninviting.
I Am Alive tries to be both Tomb Raider and The Last Of Us at the same time, but fails to capture the good parts of either of those games. The story is dull, making you check the menu frequently to see how much of the game you have left to play through (yes, there is a story completion meter built in). The graphics are what you would expect for a budget title, as in, slightly above what an ipad could play. The controls can be frustrating at times. As a game that is 60% climbing like this is, the controls should be precise. They are actually very vague feeling and the camera moves around alot and as it shifts, so do your control directions. The game never does anything original nor exciting and it starts to feel very repetitive after about 30% through the story. This game maybe good for a rainy weekend when you are bored of all your other games.
Once in a long while, there comes a game that makes me excited to think about playing it while locked away at school or work. It gave me something to look forward to, and when I finished it, it game me something to reminisce about. I Am Alive is one of those games. The title thrives on an engrossing storyline, atmosphere and innovative gameplay that, like many greats, doesn't lie in a single genre, but instead hops from one to the other, gathering a few select elements from each genre to deliver a whole new experience. I give the graphics a 7/10, with a few glitches and rendering issues here and there. Sound and music are a solid 8-9. But gameplay takes it home with a perfect 10 and easily transcends any visual or audio weaknesses. If you are looking for a mix of role-play, adventure, thriller, action and a bit of intellectual strategy, this is the game for you.
Let's face it,the game could have been a lot more but it's good and fun nonetheless. The one thing i didn't like about the game was that it was short. You can beat it in less than 4 hours. The gameplay is good and i really like that if you don't have any bullets in your gun and threathen someone and they can't see your bluff and you just stab them or push them off a cliff. The graphics could have been better mainly because the game is like somebody applied a black and white filter.I don't recommend that you pay full price so just wait until its on a steam sale.
The monochromatic, grainy visuals of I am Alive suit its post-apocalyptic themes perfectly. There are no colours, no wow-ing sights, which enhances the atmosphere substantially. Apart from this well-done atmosphere, however, there is little to recommend the game. The controls and general gameplay suffer from its porting to PC, making it often very difficult to successfully make your way through an area. Which is unfortunate, as I really want to like this game.
