Iron Fisticle is a challenging twin-stick shooter that requires reflexes, speed and quick thinking to master. It takes the classic arcade arena shooters of the mid 80s and drags them, axes flying, into the 21st century.

Inspired by truly old school arcade games right down to the (optional) scanlines themselves, Iron Fisticle is both a retro game and a reinvention of a classic genre, with multiple routes through the game, bonus stages, a large variety of weapons and enemies, clever boss fights and much more.

Great arcade fun

Iron Fisticle is great little twin stick shooter with some rogue elements and some platforming sections. The controls feel responsive and the action is solid. The real meat of the game lies in the rogue elements, which were mixed for me. The randomization works well, but this is less of a dungeon crawler and more of arena-style affair. Instead of unlocking items through challenges or chance, you unlock them by levelling up. None of these aspects are bad, but I prefer dungeon crawling and unlocking through challenges and secrets. The game handles the arcade aspect very nicely and it is terrific with a friend. The scoring system really strings you along and the co-op works great and feels well done. If you want a quick arcade game to play in bursts with a friend, this really fits the bill.
