There are two types of games, suda51 games and the rest, Killer is Dead is a port of the PS cult classic to the PC plus the additional DLC modes which makes this one a great deal, specially if you missed this one as suda games are sometimes hard to get on the market (at reasonable prices). Don't miss out and buy this one already!. Game Highlights: * Stylish Graphics * Easy control scheme * Fun story * Just the right mix of randomness
Killer is Dead is a nice game if you want fast action. The graphics and soundtrack are good too, I fell in love with comic graphics style which it presents, I think it is unique. The story is maybe odd at first but you will enjoy it later, I'm sure of that. About the gameplay, it is easy, Mondo's skills are useful to clear the game, in fact, you will enjoy cutting everything that can move. If you are in doubt about buy it, I absolutely recommend it to you, you won't regret it and you will enjoy it a lot, Worth it.
So what you've got here is another Suda51 game. If you're a fan of his work (NMH, Lolipop, Killer 7), then you'll probably also like this game. I very solid action, hack n slash that has good replay value. Controls and mechanics and I personally really enjoy the characters even though Mika is kind of an annoying schoolgirl archetype. Regarding Gigolo Mode, I know some people complain about for various reasons but I think it's okay because like a lot Suda stuff, it's silly, goofy, and shouldn't be taken seriously. Now the biggest problem with this game is the story. You could argue that it really doesn't have one but definitely it is confusing because I wasn't sure what actually happened on my 1st playthrough. That being said, buy this game because it is still very fun to play.
Killer is Dead is one of those hack and slash games that needs to be seen to be believed. It makes even the craziest of games look tame by comparison. At first Killer is Dead looks like another hack and slash game that Suda made: No More Heroes. Just like in No More Heroes, you fight against various enemies in various locations with insane combos and fluid sword strikes, and it feels just as satisfying as it did in No More Heroes, except even more so since you don’t have to worry about using a Wii Remote. Killer is Dead’s visuals are close to being art, and the story is as absolutely insane as you would expect from Suda. Killer is Dead is the kind of game people have come to expect from Suda, and that is why Suda’s game are so popular and well received; it’s insane and glorious, and you can’t help but have fun because of it.
I'm not sure why there is new store page for Killer is Dead, or at least why review wasn't moved there... well, this game deserve to have high notes so here is my review: Michigan: Report from Hell, No More Heroes, Killer7, Shadows of the Damned or Lollipop Chainsaw... those titles alone would make you think what kind of game Killer is Dead is and how much of genius SUDA51 is. Good thing is, Killer is Dead is one of titles that is also really good and worth playing. Starting from something unique - graphics. It's nothing like you ever see before. There is also hectoliters of blood and really beatiful womans. And just when I said about womans, there is a special mode that allow you to date some of them - and see how they look in only underwear with your specials glasses... yup. There is also a stunning nurse! Aside from the main reason I picked up this game, this is a solid slasher. It's not a long game, but have a high replayability - for each episode you get scores, there is a higher difficult level, side missions and gigolo mode (this dating stuff). Also look at that price! It's a great deal for a SUDA51 game. If you are looking for some different, but a really amazing game with interesting game mechanics and story - get it.
