About the graphic, the exaggeration in lighting, the intensity and brightness of sharp colors along with the special effects and visual effects have helped us to see a new style of graphic structure in computer games. Technological dimensions such as shading, lighting, and texture quality do not have much technical value, but are greatly overlapping over weaknesses. Paying attention to the tiniest jobs of the visual effects did not prevent the builders from neglecting the modelling and designing of the main characters and the subcategory, so they did their job very well. The cinematic interiors also have a semi-plastic shape and are clearly subject to the general rules of the cartoon style of the game. What's evident in this game is one of the most beautiful outputs of the Unreal Engine 3 engine in terms of art. In sounds part, the sound of the swords and bullets, shouting of the enemies, and even the crying of the giant bosses, can be heard throughout the game. Since the Hack & Slash gameplay is based on breathtaking battles, music and its impact play an undeniable role thankfully, KiD is in this category, because the soundtrack creates a beautiful symphony with gameplay and during the battles, the rhythm of its sharp and exciting energy transfers it to an entertaining struggle for the player.
Nice Game, Good Graphics, well played story-line, and a nice soundtrack... essential and a standard to any game made by Suda51: The art direction, voice acting (in both English and Japanese) and character design are all first rate. It is in a way a button mashing game with the hack-and-slash of say... Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. With deep game-play, solid controls, beautiful Art style which fit the game perfectly, side quests and challenges are nice and well...challenging. It's unique and Fresh, and a Nice fast paced Action game and it's a decent one, much more like Bayonetta and Devil May Cry or for those that have had a chance: Lollipop Chainsaw on the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony Playstation 3 consoles or No More Heroes, a previous Suda51 on the Nintendo Wii and Sony Playstation 3 consoles. Also, throw in some in inspiration from 007 novels on the characters, while you're that it. If there are any problems that I was able to see with the game is that is was a little short, it left you wanting more of the game story, something that is another Suda51 trait, but as I mentioned before there are side quests and challenges to ease that feeling.
Killer is Dead is a typical Suda51 game. Abstract, over the top and very Japanese but also fun as hell. It's obvious it's a niche type of game and only small percent of players will find it attractive but those who do will remember this adventure for a long time. It is hard to recommend this title though, as it is very specific. If you heard of Suda51 there might be a chance you will like it but if this studio if completely unknown to you perhaps keep away from this one. You may miss out but on the other hand, the game may appear to bizarre to you.
While not necessarily the deepest or most complex action game, KiD absolutely oozes style and is still satisfying to play. Scoring system and secrets give it a fair bit of replayability, and the occasional minigame helps break up the action every so often. Fighting regular enemies has a habit of becoming somewhat repetitive, but boss fights are absolutely excellent. Maybe not the best of its kind, but certainly up there and is definitely worth playing.
I got the game back in 2015, and I waited around to play it, but once I really got into the meat of the game I was surprised by how good it actually was, I'd compare it to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance or DMC, the gameplay is solid, you're rewarded for playing well and using a parry ability, the advancement system is very nice as well you eventually earn 4 sidearm weapons to go along with your main sword, and you can upgrade both those, and your health and blood, blood being a meter for a special attack that can be used to finish off a dazed large enemy or just instantly kill smaller ones. The art style is unique, some people say they dislike it, I myself am a fan. Overall I was just extremely shocked at how good the game was, I can't believe it took me so long to actually get around to finishing it, getting 100% completion + all achievements took me about 23 hours, so it's not an insanely long game, but the replay-ability is definitely there the combat is just superb.
