A long time ago the Saxons came to Britannia as ruthless mercenaries, but they became the devoted warriors of Christianity, united under the rule of King Raedwald.
When Arthur, the son of Uther Pendragon pulled his cursed sword from the stone, the dark age of wizardry and pagan monstrosities returned. These are grave times for Britannia and only the devoted and the faithful can stop this madness.
Call the proud Saxons to Norfolk! Recruit armies and knights and prove that King Raedwald is the real Once and Future King!
King Arthur: The Saxons is a sandbox expansion where you lead the warriors of Christianity, the Saxons against the tides of pagans and the gathering darkness.
The Saxons DLC for the strategy game King Arthur came out very good. This DLC adds a whole new campaign for the saxon king Redwald, and with it a bunch of interesting content. For the Saxons, a new type of knights called the Judgment Day Warriors, mounted archers and saxon Royal Guard were added. The unique saxon units fit properly and balance of the game. Externally, they look great too. All new spells of Christians turned out to be interesting and powerful. In total, 5 spells were added: Fire rain, Mass healing, Mass slowdown, Heavenly sword (causing damage to one unit and several more near to it, and damage greatly increases depending on the Christian faith of the casting hero) and Firewall (creates a fiery wall, causing great damage and allowing to block off narrow passages), plus some passive skills and the ability to summon the Heavenly Guardians during the battle. All new skills and spells also fell into place and aligned the balance by spells. There are several new heroes and new abilities for their wives (skills responsible for replenishing troops and planting Christianity in the provinces, although for some reason a fairly large number of brides had negative skills. Added diplomacy: now you can trade with other kings, enlist alliances, etc. and also peacefully annex provinces to your kingdom. Select the queen for the main character or lure prospective knights from other kingdoms to your service. Four more subfactions (Council of Bishops, Council of Sidov, Guild of Thieves, Marauders) were added and several unique diplomatic actions for them. Also, many new artifacts and tasks to collect their kits. The map itself increased slightly in size and several new provinces and fortresses appeared on it. All new units, spells and heroes are present only in the campaign for the Saxons and are not available in the main campaign and fast combat mode. This DLC is rather for those who did not thoroughly enjoy the original game, since there is plenty of new, different content added to spice things up
