Very seldomly do DC Comics fans receive a game of this magnitude; it allows you to explore iconic DC Universe locations as well as all seven Lantern Worlds. This game almost triples the amount of playable characters from the last game, adds celebrity performances from Conan O'Brian, Kevin Smith and Adam West, and changes the way characters switch suits. The game features copious amounts of trademark Lego humor and the story as well as side quests all help to create the feeling of a large-scale DC world. However, the level design can be repetitive, the game has some bugs, and open-world of previous games has been sacrificed to create a series of "mini-hubs" (similarly to The Lego Movie Videogame). Also, if you don't have a fairly good understanding of the DC lore, it might be hard to follow the story, which unlike the past games follows the Justice League rather that Batman almost exclusively. If you're a DC fan or a fan of previous Lego Games, you should definitely consider adding this one to your collection!
Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham is a typical game of the LEGO series, with its main attributes, such as the local cooperative, the humorous narrative and platform elements. One annoying thing is that just playing in story mode, you can not finish the game 100%, since you need to use different characters to access certain sites. Although it extend the play time for those who like to spend weeks playing the same game, becomes a discouraging point for the other players. Another well annoying defect of the game is the lack of sense of depth in some parts of the scene, which combined with static camera that does not always help can cause some stress on the player who suffers to pass some point that should be simple, but the problems cited becomes complicated. The game's soundtrack follows the pattern of the other Lego games, and the gameplay and controls also follow this pattern. I recommend this game to everyone, especially those who loves Lego.
Lego Batman 3 is a game in which you play as Batman and others DC characters. The game takes place in Gotham City and you have to play the campaign to fight the vilains to save the city. The game have the possibility of Free Roam and also to complete the missions. The gameplay is similar to the other Lego games produced and so are the graphics, which are very good since the game is very simple and without so many details. The game is great to people who like DC Comics and Lego. I would recommend it to all my friends, especially who likes comics from DC and to who likes Lego games and toys.
LEGO have done it again and produced another game that will keep me entertained for hours! And I got it for such a good price here on GMG. I also get to save Adam West for stupid situations, Stephen Amell (Arrow) makes a guest voice appearance as Green Arrow and there's lots of DC Superheroes and Villains to choose from! Lots of fun dialogue between the characters, especially from the villains! The fact there was no open world was kind of disappointing having just played LEGO Marvel and LEGO LOTR but still a good game and definitely worth a play. One thing that did bug me is all the different costumers one character can wear, it sometime can be confusing but simply pressing 'B' at a point a costume is needed will automatically change you to the correct costume with you needed to scroll through them yourself.
Lately, media has been getting saturated with gritty remakes of comic characters, making them "more believable" and "darker." What we sometimes forget is that comics are silly, and this game is an exemplary sample of that silliness inherent in comic characters. The LEGO games are already brilliantly written, filled with so much wit and sarcasm, at some points. Add to that the ridiculous, and totally real characters like Bat Cow, Dex-starr, and that Superman/Batman hybrid abomination, and you get for an interesting cast of characters in a wonderfully written game. It's less about Batman than it is about the silliness of comics altogether. All I'm missing is Adam West. This is perfect for kids, which will ease them into comics, and for old comics fans, which will remind them of the child-like qualities of appreciation for the material. Not everything is serious, and this game is on the top of that list of not-serious stuff.
