Reviews for LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars (MAC)

Great, but the worst of the Lego Star Wars games

I hated the strategy battles in this game and those were the ones I was most excited to play. I thought it would be so much fun to control the large scale battles, but they were overly long and incredibly boring. Thankfully the vast majority of the game was the usual for the Lego franchise so the game overall is still quite good despite the poorly thought out strategy battles. It's based off the cartoon show so it's a little hard to follow if you don't know the characters or story in the cartoon, but it's still fun and the story isn't of high importance compared to the gameplay. There's a large number of collectibles and cast of unlockable characters, but as per the norm, most are all just clones of one another and don't bring new gameplay elements with them as you already have multitudes of characters that can do the same thing by the time you unlock them. This game is definitely worth a purchase, but I personally didn't get the long lasting entertainment that I tend to from the other Lego games.

Ah, the Memories

This game is a pretty well done Lego game compared to others. It's controls are not too complicated, they're quite simple and fun. I had tons of fun with this game before, almost 4 years ago, I enjoyed every second of it all. The gameplay, like I said, is simple and very nice/smooth. The Story is very compelling and interesting, gives you a sense of scope in the universe. Great story-telling in this, really! I had a blast playing this, I loved exploring the area to find collectibles and fun things like that. Changing characters is fun, and going back to levels with different character for more variety. Overall, this game is fun to play and totally worth it! Great memories and great fun!

A perfect throwback to my childhood

I used to have all this games when I was a kid and when I heard it was coming out I immediately went to GMG because I just love this site and It really was worth it this game because I have played nonstop ever since my brother bought it for the PC. I want to emphasise in how great is the quality of this game, the graphics are so good I feel like I am watching a Lego Star Wars movie, and not to mention how awesome the story is. It is a really entertaining game that I am sure everyone will enjoy .

The First Great Innovation in Lego Games

Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars was a breakthrough for Lego games. Based on the first two seasons of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the game utilizes an all-new game Engine that allows for more realistic movement, better physics for breaking objects, the ability to move items around with the Force and be able to control them, silver and gold objects that can only be destroyed by certain characters, hybrid vehicle/on foot levels, and dynamic split-screen for co-op. On top of these innovations, the game has three different campaigns for three leaders of the Separatists during the Clone Wars, each spawning from the Battle of Geonosis and ending in the attack of the Zillo Beast. The character selection is also quite large, with Clone Wars minifigs getting a makeover (removing their bug eyes from the sets), minikits unlocking minifigs from Episodes I-VI, and the ability to unlock characters by defeating them in the hub or freeing them from jail. The game of course has the same problems as most Lego games: repetitive gameplay, aggravating bonus stages, and the need to look online for tips. The game also suffers from an oversized hub world that seems to take forever to move around in. Despite these flaws, Lego Star Wars III is still a great game for fans of the TV show and of Star Wars alike.
