Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne

One of the greatest 3rd Person shooters and games in general, ever created. Redefined the genre when it came out and still holds up today, cause of the addictive gameplay. While the graphics maybe old its still looks decent and every other aspect of the game is amazing. From the writing to music and sounds. A great pick up for its price, I recommend it for everyone who likes shooters and noir story.

This is a pure masterpiece!

I've found this game installed on my dad's laptop when I was little. It was my first experience with a third person shooter and also the best. I had no internet connection for a long time, and I used to play and replay Max Payne 2 never getting old by its gameplay, developing interest in crime novels, and really good story line in video games. I became addicted to this game so much it became a must to play it once a year at least. The first Max Payne and the Fall of Max Payne are a thing to tell your grandsons and granddaughters about.

As good as the first one

Max Payne II is as good as the first part of the series. It features pretty much the same gameplay elements but goes deeper into the story of Max Payne and develops its main character with lots of atmospheric levels. The tormented soul of Max Payne is back, and you will be part of it with those imaginative levels that do more things rather than just shooting at your enemies. All of Max Payne's action packed features are still there, but this time this is more than just that epic bullet time we saw in the first establishment of the franchise. It is still good as new since the game is ageing pretty well. Both of them are. As for the Max Payne 3... well, not a bad game but far from these.

Better but shorter.

Max Payne 2 is the sequel of the first installment. It's based on the same character, who continues his detective work. The game brings better graphics and another amazing story. Unfortunately for me, I found the story to be too short, leaving a lot of potential unused. One thing that's really interesting about the gameplay is that the AI adapts to your skill. That means that if the game sees you failing/dying too many times in the same action, the game automatically reduces the difficulty of the enemies and also makes more painkillers available at different locations. Of course it works the other way around. For me, this is a great balancing idea. A must-play for the fans of the first game! Don't miss it!

The Ballad of Mona Sax

What can I say about Max Payne 2? It's Max Payne but better. Really better. The graphics are better. The story is better. Well the gameplay is not better. However, there was no need to improve it since the original Max Payne was so great gameplay-wise. The story is a direct sequel to the event of the first game. Max is still in the police force and, while he was investigating gunshots in a warehouse he met Mona Sax once again. The same woman that "died" at the end of the original game. And she's accused of murder, too! So now Max tries his best to understand how Mona survived and what really happened in this case... A investigation that will bring a new light to the event of Max Payne 1... Max Payne 2 is a great game. It's almost like the two games were the sides of a single coin. If you want to try this franchise, you should get both of them.
