Metrocide is a relentless single-player stealth action game in which you play as a contract killer: the notorious T.J. Trench.
You will have to negotiate a fierce and brutal city replete with gangs, vigilantes, cops and more, taking out the trash one contract at a time. While cop drones circle overhead, you’ll be sticking to the alleyways with a variety of weapons and plantable explosives finding new and unique ways to get away with murder most foul. But one single slip-up will cost you. There are no respawns here – when you’re dead, you’re dead. That’s it.
You play as Trench, taking out the trash one target at a time. Play through the three zones of retro-futuristic and cyberpunk-inspired MetroCity earning cash for completing kills in this brutal stealth-action game inspired by such classics as Syndicate and Grand Theft Auto.
Duck and weave through the claustrophobic streets and alleys as a living city does its best to stop you breathing - permanently.
The game came out of the Cyberpunk Game Jam in early 2014, but rather than get submitted at the end of the jam, was kept under lock and key and worked on as a full Flat Earth release.
A top down stealth game where you try to kill the person you were hired to kill without being spotted by civilians, cops, or killed by your target, gangsters, or vigilantes. As you make money you are able to buy new weapons or items to aid you, as well as get help removing you from the police database if you have been spotted. Completing certain objectives unlocks more equipment for you to purchase in game. When you meet your goal in a city, you can then move to another and gain the ability to start in that city, once you leave the first city you will enter more difficult areas where they begin to scan you for unlicensed weapons. Different contracts could have you going after people with different personalities, they could be armed, they might be trying to leave the area giving you a small amount of time to kill them, etc. Death comes very easily and one mistake will cause you to start over, losing any of the items you have bought along the way. One bullet is enough to kill anyone and when shots are fired police will quickly head to the area, you will nee to quickly bag and hide any bodies all while trying to keep out of sight of possible witnesses. You might able to use other civilians to help kill your target by getting them hit by stray bullets, but aside from that and some of the items you unlock you don't have that many options or different kinds of targets to go after. Certain contracts make it very difficult to kill your target if they constantly remain next to other civilians and you will rarely have much money to spend on gadgets or weapons.
Metrocide is an Indie stealth kind of game, in which you play as a contract killer and have to beat the levels without getting caught. The game is very well made and very cool to play, that will definetely give you a good time while playing it. The levels become harder as you advance through the game. The game was over my expectations when I first played it, so because of that I recommend it to everyone, especially those who are fans of stealth kind of games, because they will all surely have a good time playing it.
A very difficult game but just too enjoyable to play, with an extremely rich scenario, something to pass the time and think about a good strategy. The graphics are not any good but they are offset by gameplay that is extremely easy, even for those who do not usually play. Often the game makes you have to be thinking for several minutes to find the best strategy to perform the tasks which is challenging and at the same time exhausting. The controls respond correctly which makes the game even more fun. I recommend to all type of players this game because despite having very complicated missions and really fun and will make you spend hours playing.
Metrocide consists of you taking various contracts and executing the targets while also being careful or nearby civilians as they will either go and alert the authorities or will pull out a gun and execute you themselves. Once you earn enough money you can travel to different map, and after enough killings you will unlock new equipment and weapons. Be careful though as 1 shot will kill you and you will start back with nothing...Well you keep the weapons you can buy but that's it. I give this game an 8.5/10 for being fun, unique and awesome and I can't wait to see what the future holds fo this game.
