When you join a regiment and start playing with other people and listening to your comander its one of the moust satisfaying moments i still remember when i first joined 84e a old regiment dead we are only a comunity now if anybody wants to join and hang around you can here is the ts 126.96.36.199:9992 i was so frightent what will hapen but in the end played over 1000 h and had fun like never before
Whether you are having 200 player line battles online, huge single player skirmishes, or team deathmatch online, this game is amazing. The fighting system looks archaic but is actually really satisfying. Not the largest community for a game, but still going strong. Highly recommend whether you like third person shooters, first person shooters, even real-time strategy games. 10/10 would re-create Napoleonic war skirmishes.
This is by far the best mod for Mount and Blade: Warband. I'd say that its even better than the original game! The battles are large (200 people) and glorious. Theres a few main game modes, like siege, battle, team death match, death match, commander battle, and naval battle. Which commander battle is you select the type of unit you want and then you get either a squad or a platoon of them to command. Though the unity and size depends on the server. And all though naval battle isn't its own thing, I'd consider it to be. Naval battle is a ship mode where everyone gets either a large or small ships. Then they can steer the ship and kill the enemy. The only down side to this is there are no working cannons on the ship. This game is tremendously fun with friends. And it does require some skill. Melee requires speed and the ability to either hit, dodge, or block. Which in a game that uses which way your mouse is moving to block/hit can be pretty hard (thats just my settings though, it can also be the direction you are moving in). And there is some unskilled ways of winning too... Like melee spamming. Though a skilled player can typically kill a melee spammer.
I highly recommend this game. Sadly, it is multiplayer only, but don't let that discourage you. Before getting this, I had played online native only once or twice and I still enjoyed it. The gameplay is similar to to Native, but with muskets! This game may be a few years old, but the multiplayer community is still strong as of 2015. Since I live in the US, so I know less about its popularity in other continents, but I've heard that at least the EU community is still big. Another part of the game are regiments. They ensure that the game is still popular. Regiment leader organize with other regiments to create Line Battles. Each regiment forms a Napoleonic Wars Era line, marches around together, fires together and bayonet charges together. There are even some regiments who join the battles as either cavalry or artillery units. If you want to join one, just join any public server and you will be recruited by players. Be sure to download TeamSpeak so you can communicate and hear orders. Mics are not a requirement in most regiments. Lots of regiments have 1-2 battles a week and some training events. I recommend going to training at least at first. Another fun part of the game are commander battles. There are two teams, and you join as commander of line(or cav/arty). It's like a Line Battle, but you get to be in charge of a line of AI.
