New Ambush System
There is no greater weapon than the element of surprise; catch your enemies off guard with an ambush attack. Though you must keep your wits about you, or you could be the target of an ambush yourself.
Companions that leave the player's party from discontent may now strike out on their own as adventurers, gathering their own forces and making their mark on the world.

New ambient sounds and scene contribute to a richer experience in historical Dark Age Britain.

A great add-on to M&B: Warband. Was pleasantly surprised by the story's choice and consequences. A lot focus more has been placed on foot and naval combat, where tactics and movement of troops make a difference. Not Total war level, but close. There is still no greater feeling than leading your outnumbered troops against a tyrannical warlord to victory - something like a scene from Brave heart! The only irk about this DLC is the lack of weapon and mount variety. The authors sacrificed a lot of content. There's a big lack of troop variety.
Love mount and blade but feel an urge for a good adventure story of revenge and betrayal? well look no further because if you want an actual story for mount and blade you got it right here! The story is filled with emotion, difficult decisions which will change your story, and unforeseen betrayal. The story has many quest and doesn't feel repetitive at all, although some characters are forgettable. You don't need to play the story either, the dlc offers ships, naval battles, dog companions (not very helpful/useful though), and the ability to ambush. Overall this feels like a much larger change to the series than fire and sword did and is well worth your money if your a mount and blade fan.
The Mount & Blade games are well known for their great modding potential, and while there were some viking-themed mods, this one is more official than the others. It was chosen for official publication by TaleWorlds Entertainment, and the decision makes much sense. The mod comes from authors who surely know their trade very well. Previously they released Brytenwalda, which remains one of the most popular (and best) Mount & Blade Warband mods ever. So this time what could be considered a mod for Mount & Blade Warband becomes an official DLC, and if you are into vikings or simply want to support the authors, get it. While some may object to paying for what is in fact a mod, the price will be money well spent!
