Portal™ is a new single player game from Valve. Set in the mysterious Aperture Science Laboratories, Portal has been called one of the most innovative new games on the horizon and will offer gamers hours of unique gameplay.

The game is designed to change the way players approach, manipulate, and surmise the possibilities in a given environment; similar to how Half-Life® 2's Gravity Gun innovated new ways to leverage an object in any given situation.

Players must solve physical puzzles and challenges by opening portals to maneuvering objects, and themselves, through space.

Now you're thinking with Portals

Portal is a classic that combines puzzles, portals, as the name goes, and physics to create a unique combination that is easy to understand, but hard, yet rewarding, to master. Alongside the puzzles is Glados, an AI, who adds charm and character to an already unique game. Once you're done with the base content, you can try out the user-created content to fill your heart's content. Highly recommended for anyone of any age.

The game that started it all.

This is a budget sized, and priced game, that has a surprising dept, both in story, and gameplay, and for some reason, even in its graphics, which is downright scary for a ten year old game, to look this good today. Seriously, this, just like every game on the source engine looks better then some games released today...all the while running better, then anything, no matter the system. In this game, you have to face Glados, one of the best villains of all time. She is like Skynet's more talkative psychotic little sister, that wants to murder you, yet you can't be mad at her, because she's so entertaining! The portal gimmick works really well, and it's pretty straightforward. The game becomes graduallyharder, and some stages can be rather tricky, but it1s never frustrating. There's a lot of user created maps, if you finished it. Some of them good, most of them aren't but that's just the way it is. Anyway, this really is a must have title, i highly recommend if for anyone.

There is Absolutely No Reason Not to Own This Game

This game has a gorgeous aesthetic. It looks amazing. Even after, what, 9 years? It holds up. The puzzles aren't that difficult in general, but they're certainly fun. The story is the real strength of this game. It's hilarious. If you know anything about puzzle games, you know about this one. It's worth it at any price.

Interesting yet short

I am not really keen on puzzle games but this is and exception. Portal is a game where you are given a device that allows you to create portals on flat and plain surfaces. If you make two portal and enter one you will exit another. That's the whole mechanics. You have to use physics of portals to reach your goal. My favourite thing is then you place one portal on wall and other on lower floor and you jump down to gain momentum and launch yourself ten meters away. I had lot of fun with Portal but it last only for two hours. However it has great replay value.

Portal

Portal is, I think, simply the best thing Valve has yet produced. It is overly short, but perfect in the time it offers. What it needs most is an utterly user-friendly, simple and easy puzzle level creator. With that, it would shine like a nova.
