Reviews for Proto Raider

Simple game that can entertain you for a short time

Proto Raider is a cheap retro platformer that is very basic game with retro graphics. The gameplay is very simple, but offers a fun challenge. The only thing you can do is jump, and the character moves by itself. The graphics and art style are nice, and the puzzles and boss battles can keep you busy, although some can be tedious. There is also a relaxing sountrack. Overall, the game is fun, but only for a short time.

Game with nice art, simple and cheap

Proto Raider is a puzzle platformer with the environment styled as ASCII code where your character moves by itself with you only controlling the jumps. Each stage is a single screen where you will need to pick up keys and collectible items while attempting to reach the exit. Nice music that fits well with the atmosphere and nostalgic sound effects you would expect from an old arcade game. As you play the stages will get more difficult and some people might get annoyed by later levels where more obstacles appear and you have to get used to the timing. It's a simple game with a low price, the artstyle is mostly what makes the game interesting, without it the game would lose a lot of its appeal, it's also not a game with replay value but is enjoyable enough the first time through.
