What had started as an ordinary night shift at the August Valentine Hospital has turned into a night of chaos and horror for you. As Dr. Riley McClein, you have to figure out what is real and what is not as you try to uncover the mysterious happenings at the hospital, while also trying to deal with your epileptic attacks that have haunted you all your life. You will need to whatever you can to survive the night and most importantly, keep your sanity.
Roots of Insanity is an fps/tps, survival/horror game designed and developed in Unreal Engine by Crania Games. The game tells the tale of Dr. Riley McClein as he tries to survive through a maelstrom of horror and mystery in the August Valentine Hospital, while also struggling with his epileptic attacks.

Obvious Friday the 13th reference on top of this site aside, this game is actually pretty solid horror game. While graphics or sound are nothing amazing, it is pretty solid for a small indie game. Atmosphere in this game is actually great and you feel tension all the time. Writing for this kind of game is also interesting. Gameplay itself is also pretty good, you can fight enemies without issues and it's easy to sink in the world this game created. Only downside to this game is it's length, you can finish it in around 2 or 3 hours. Might not be worth it at full price, but on discount it is absolutely worth a try!

Roots of Insanity is an intense horror game, made by independent developer. It's very well crafted and while exploring certain stages it can give player the chills. While animation may be lacking at certain moments it's not that distracting though it's worth to mention that fact. If you're looking for game with good narrative that can make you uneasy try it out! Solid indie title!
