After the initial onslaught, a decision was made to take the subterranean rescue efforts, to somewhere free of the alien infestation. Scientists had recently discovered that the strange lifeforms that had been assaulting Elysion One would only venture so far into the earth. While this is good and all, there remains one small problem: someone has to keep them at bay while the operation is moved deeper into the earth. Guess who will be part of the lucky battalion?

This one is probably my favourite map for Sanctum. It is a bit weird when you start playing it, but once you get the idea you'll probably love it. Challenging but not impossible, I loved it because it is just different. I'm used to one kind of strategy for all Sanctum maps, but I totally had to change it for this one. It's just one map, a good one but just one. Grab it on sale or go for the complete edition.
It plays and acts as the original maps, except for more shooting oppertunities. It has a lot of teleporters, and jump pads. It´s a fantastic sniping map, which gives you a new way to play, but doesn´t give you much creativity in the building section. Therefore I think it´s a bit harder than the usual maps, atleast if you go solo as I did. For the current price I wouldn´t say it´s worth it since it doesn´t add that much of value, since you could simply replay an original map on a harder difficulty, but if you already have done that then, and want to add on your Snactum experience, then this map is for you, if not then I would wait for a sale.
Cavern may be my least favorite of the Sanctum DLC maps, which is strange, because it shares many of the elements that I love about Slums (vertical plane, teleporters). The key difference is that in Cavern, there's not a whole lot of room for creativity. Each platform has exactly one entrance and one exit, with very few options to shape the enemy's path. The upside is that this tends to make for shorter games, so it works well if you don't have time for a really long survival campaign. Not a waste by any means, but if you prefer the strategic elements of the game to the FPS action I'd recommend some of the other maps first.
Cavern is a new DLC map with many sniper spots. Its have a quite atmosphere and the difficulty is reasonable. It features some nice sniping spots as I said, but you can also get directly into the melee and fight. Its a teleporter map ,but it has many jump pads too. It works perfect with other DLC weapons. For example the "Killing Floor DLC" can rid many foes if you forced them to change their route. Cavern is a nice-looking map,its worth trying.
