WELCOME TO THE SATELLITE!
Your life now depends on how much of a good show you can put up!
Satellite Rush is a fast-paced sci-fi top-down shooter with pixel art graphics and Roguelike elements.
Take control of an abducted office worker and blast through Satellite Moebius, an intergalactic space arena/Reality TV stage filled with vicious aliens, robots programmed to clean (or kill), and a (not always so) cheery audience.
Can you survive the worst day of your life and find your way back home?
PLEASE THE AUDIENCE!
To survive in this vicious arena, you better make the crowd happy. Keep shooting stuff and giving them the bloodbath they've paid to see! They will throw valuable weapons for you if they enjoy the show.
- Randomized corridor generation, because nobody would buy tickets for the same bloodlust twice;
- Permadeath, with a few persistent effects to trick you into thinking you have a chance - yes, we mean unlockables;
- A demanding audience and a lax security. They can throw stuff to you. Will you be able to keep them entertained?
- Boss fights and Upgrades, because what sort of entertainment wouldn't involve blowing up bosses and getting neat rewards?
As a fast-paced roguelike game, Satellite Rush is a really fun game to play, with a challenge level that will keep you on your toes at all times. The game isn't very long, but because of how difficult it is, it requires some time to beat as the player gets a little better on each attempt.
Satellite Rush is a tricky arena shooter with a cheerful, colourful setting that disguises the fact you're a random bloke who's been abducted and has to fight for his life! It's a fairly typical action-roguelike set-up. You choose from a red, green or blue door, then have to clear out a series of randomly allocated arenas, and finally a boss. Repeat until you've won all three doors. The crowd thrill meter at the top is a clever way of adding urgency to the game. If you string together kills, the meter goes up into the rewards zone, and cool temporary weapons will spawn in the arena. But it will continually tick back down again, forcing you onwards. I'd like to see them do more with this concept.
Satellite Rush is a top down shooter and rougelike that had a failed Kickstarter with a demo and then spent some time in early access before it was recently released. The game has you playing as an office who gets abducted by aliens and must fight in an arena for the amusement of a large crowd. You can run in eight directions but can only fire in four and you will move faster when not shooting so you might have to hold your fire to avoid being hit by enemies. Killing enemies quickly will increase a crowd thrill meter, when it reaches a certain reward point the audience will throw in weapons or gadgets for you to pick up. There are a variety of weapons like machine guns, shotguns, flamethrowers, rockets, bombs and when you enter an arena you might find breakable walls, traps, explosive barrels, etc that can help or hurt you. When you start the game you will see a red, blue, and green portal, inside each one you will earn the same color tokens which will unlock new weapons and gadgets that you can acquire, beating the game also requires you to play through all the stages in each portal and defeat the bosses at the end. It's a good, low priced, shooter with some nice artwork on the enemies.
