Chances are, you're not going to get anything worthwhile out of these loot boxes. The majority of games you'll get are going to be those $1 and $2 shovelware games you see on Steam all the time. BUT -- that's not the real reason you're interested in these, is it? There is a small chance you'll find some real treasure, and that's the attraction to these mystery loot bundles. I happened to to get lucky, and got Witcher 3: GOTY and a $10 GMG credit out of the bundle that I purchased. Even got the original Overlord, which I enjoyed quite a bit years ago. The rest were the dinky little Steam games nobody's ever heard about. But y'know, I'll at least give them a try, maybe there's a diamond in the rough in there somewhere. So good luck! Buy these for the feeling of anticipation, but don't set your sights too high. It's all about the journey, and not the destination. Cheers!
The GMG loot boxes are a good value; you will definitely get more out of it that you paid. That said, you may not get a game offering an experience that you are looking for. If you have a few bucks to spend and are looking for a new game, this might scratch that itch. I buy these periodically and have discovered some hidden gems through these loot boxes, like The Betrayer. If I get a game that I have no interest in, I give the keys to friends and family who might be interested: sharing is caring. Also, I have never received a AAA game from the loot boxes, so don't go in expecting to get one.
I bought three different sets of this item, a bundle of three and two bundles of five. The first bundle was not that bad actually, all the games are playable and have decent reviews. The second bundle contained a copy of something I got in the first bundle, plus a pair of duplicates, with the other games being uninteresting. The third bundle also contained another set of duplicates, with none of the games even reaching an average rating. So in total, paid for 13 potential games, only got 10 and out of those 10, only three are going to be installed. I know it's a risk, but for "100's of games", I expected at least a little more out of it.
