Survive in Space is a skill-based space shooter with a hardcore focus on gameplay mechanics. You take on the role of Sasaki, a young soldier who discovers the horrible truth of humanity’s enslavement at the hands of the alien Chronicles during a routine mission. His deep anguish leads him to spiral into depression, and in the darkest depths he finds The Shadow, a primal being full of hate that grants him the power to confront the Chronicles.
If you like sidescrolling shoot em ups you should try this game since its pretty cheap and it really hooks you up and those upgrade rpg/upgrade mechanics add much to gameplay as you essentially become an weapon of mass destruction but there is only story mode to play so that limits replayability to some extent. There are few things i did not like with this game and those are graphics which could be much better and more polished. It's not an original game but it has mashed up things from other games pretty well but still has it's own problems. I had pretty good time with this game so i would recommend it if you are looking for games like this.
Survive in Space is a horizontal shooter that has enemies attacking you from the left and right sides. You can change which direction you are aiming in, fire your regular attack, a powerful laser beam, or homing shots, shield regeneration, and you have five different ships to choose from with different abilities. A more powerful attack mode can be activated that will move you shields further away from your ship and turn them into an offensive attack when they touch your enemies. Upgrades can be purchased to make your weapons do more damage, steal life, stun, decrease cool downs so they can be fired faster, etc. There is a good variety of enemies, fifty stages, and without a level cap you can keep replaying missions to become more powerful and you have the option to increase the difficulty and to add extra enemies or asteroids. If you like electronic music the game has a decent soundtrack and it allows you to switch between different tracks during gameplay. There is a story with cutscenes at the beginning and in between missions, it's nice that they have one in a game of this style but it isn't very interesting. The game can feel a little slow unless you are increasing the difficulty and adding more enemies, While the game has a good number of features, enemy types, and decent music and graphics, shooting down the actual enemies just isn't always that satisfying or well balanced.
