In TAKEDOWN: Red Sabre gamers experience close-quarters battles as a member of the elite Red Sabre team. Each scenario is designed to emulate the tactics employed by SWAT teams and SOF units in taking down small numbers of dangerous adversaries. Non-linear environments allow for multiple routes, tactics and added replayability.
The game is in development by Serellan, a team of veteran developers who have worked on titles in the Ghost Recon, Halo, SOCOM, SWAT and F.E.A.R. franchises. The team is led by Christian Allen, the former creative director of the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon franchise.
Fight Smart in Deadly, Close Quarters Combat – Players must think and move tactically, stay alert, watch, listen and choose wisely while setting up their squad for the perfect shot.
Tackle Engagements That Are Different Every Time – Nonlinear maps allow for multiple tactics and approaches to both attack and defense. Gamers must choose their gear to best execute strategy.
Out Think The Enemy – Gamers need to work closely and communicate well with their team to not only attack the enemy but to coordinate to secure multiple objectives.

A bit square game. If anyone played Rainbow Six series in... Early stage (Raven shield) They should expect something like this. A bit more smoother, but movements almosts same (Tilt, and etc) I'm not sure if 1,2,3,4 keys work to change weapons, I know u can do it with wheel which is a bit frustrated. Anyway, It's still shooter <3 :D
This game is not bad, but it's worse than I thought it would be. I had some fun for a while, you go on different missions, killing bad guys... standard. But the game is very frustrating. The enemies are too skilled. Seriously, sometimes you don't even have time to react, they just do a 360 turn on and headshot you in half a second. You die. You walk too slow, and you have to be smart and plan your strategies before attacking. Rushers won't be sucessful on this game. The concept is very good, a game where you have to be careful and plan your tactics to win, but the gameplay is much less fun than I expected it to be. Anyways, I had some fun with the game, overall it's nice to spend some time. Buy on sale.
As many reviewers have stated, the game is buggy and needs a lot of work. However, the game is playable IF you can work past those glitches. So, what is there beyond a buggy game? Visually the game is beautiful! Impressive textures, and lighting, and while the animation leaves much to be desired, everything else is rather good. The game labels it's self as a return to old school tactical shooters, which couldn't be farther from the truth. Yes, it's tactical in the sense that one hit will kill you, and you should be extra wary of your surroundings if you want to live, but does not even come close to the tactical FPS that it claims to be a return to. Overall, it's not a BAD game, and certainly has potential and is a pleasant bit of eyecandy, but just doesn't seem ready for release. By all means, if you see this on special for a really low price, pick it up! Otherwise stick to classic Rainbow Six game.
It's a dreary afternoon in Canberra, Australia, and I have nothing to play. I have an idle $2 remaining in my Steam wallet, and on impulse, I buy a game I notice is 90% off; the game is Takedown : Red Sabre. I download the game and finally press the play button. I navigate the menus, and select the Biolab mission from the Singleplayer menu. I wait intently through the loading screen, feeling excitement in my fingertips. I'm in game! My character is hefting an assault rifle and a pistol, both deadly weapons in capable hands. I walk down the stairs, and no enemies are in sight. Despite this, my character falls on the ground, dead. In a room that is empty, except for myself. 3 minutes in Takedown : Red Sabre. A game with great potential, reduced to a freakishly buggy and uninspired shooter. 4 / 10
First off this game is basically like a simulator and is very realistic feeling. So this isn't for the casual player nor the player who isn't into these types of games, and I feel that this is more realistic in terms of bullet damage than even ARMA. So for those who have an itch for a game that is tense, realistic, and is like a spiritual successor to SWAT (the tactical shooters from Sierra in the 90s), then this is for you. It is very challenging, so expect wall hugging and slowly advancing, whilst commanding your small squad of international soldiers. Finally its a must buy for those looking for a new type of shooter and quite to the point, cheap for what feels like a triple A title.
