The Highland expansion adds 6 new characters to Talisman:
As well as new characters, players can travel to a new board extension - The Highland. The Highland includes lots more adventure cards and spells and a dramatic encounter with the dreaded Eagle King!
Ok, for starters, this pack has 6 new classes! 6! Bought individually, they would cost like 10 bucks, so it's already worth it. Each of them are rather good, but the vampiress are a little overpowered in my opinion, but maybe it's because she was one of the players that actually killed me :/ Anyway, the new region is huge! I spent a whole game in it(admittedly it was a short game, only 30 rounds) and still couldn't get to the end.
The Highland Expansion includes a new region to move through, new monsters, spells, objects, characters, and three new alternate ending cards. For characters; The Sprite has a very high craft skill but low strength and fate, she starts with and always has two spells, and can evade both creatures and characters in woods and forests. The Vampiress has high life and balanced other stats, can choose to make her attacks physic, can steal followers from other characters, and sacrifice followers to heal herself. The Valkyrie has high craft and balanced other stats, adds one to her attack score in battle, can visit the graveyard as if she was an evil character, and can resurrect one killed follower each turn. The Rogue has high fate and balanced other stats, receives a bonus when fighting multiple enemies, can steal all gold when choosing to take gold when he defeats another character, and can roll two dice and choose the result he wants when at a tavern, enchantress, or mystic. The Highlander has high strength but low other stats, he can choose to charge in battle to add two to his attack but will miss his next turn, can draw two encounters on hills, and does not need to roll in the crags or chasm. A good variety of new cards to fit the setting and new heroes are added along with the new area, making this worth buying for fans of the game looking to expand their options.
