Video Games Just Got Real
As the last remaining survivor in a nuclear bunker, John’s daily routine is the one thing that keeps him sane. But when an alarm goes off, his mind starts to self destruct. He has to venture into long forgotten areas, recovering long repressed memories and unlocking the dark secrets of The Bunker
The Bunker is a completely live action experience with zero computer generated effects, filmed on location in a decommissioned government nuclear bunker with a plot crafted by writers and designers behind titles like The Witcher, SOMA and Broken Sword, and incredible cast including Adam Brown (The Hobbit) and Sarah Greene (Penny Dreadful, Assassin’s Creed 3).

Key Features
  • An incredible cast, including Adam Brown (The Hobbit), Sarah Greene (Penny Dreadful), Grahame Fox (Game Of Thrones) and Jerome St. John Blake (Star Wars)
  • Totally live action - No CGI, no motion capture, shot on location in a genuine decommissioned nuclear bunker
  • A complex, twisting plot written by award-winning screenwriters and designers behind Broken Sword, The Witcher and SOMA
  • Hidden secrets, documents and recordings to explore the mystery further
  • Neo-retro soundtrack by composer Dom Shovelton

Pocket-Lint  - “It is creepy and well shot. It could even be a surprise hit of the year.”

IGN - “Really weird & interesting and exactly the kind of thing you come to these kind of conventions to see.”

Eurogamer - “The Bunker proves there's plenty of life in the live action genre. It's smart, creepy and is a neat reminder that sometimes you just can't beat the magic that comes at 24 frames per second.”

VideoGamer.com - "I would love to see more dark human stories explored like this."

Giant Bomb - "The production quality is 10 times the quality of most FMV games"

BBC Click - "So far, the experience is an intriguing mix of movie and mystery game"

Gamesradar  - "So if you're looking for something new to binge on and don't mind getting a little weird, forget Netflix. Set aside a couple hours, grab The Bunker, pop some corn, turn out the lights, and hang on tight to your controllers.".

Remember all those old-school, hammy FMV games of old? The Bunker is the complete opposite of that. Sporting live-action performances from a star-studded cast, you take the role of John, trapped in a nuclear bunker in which he has lived for his entire life. With all sorts of eerie goings on and open-ended choices to choose from in the game, The Bunker looks to be a dalliance between old-school Live-action games and more modern adventure games like Life is Strange.

There’s so much to see in The Bunker, which is clearly dripping with atmosphere in every single shot we’ve seen. The sharp, claustrophobic atmosphere is the perfect setting for this live-action Thriller.

Short but effective

The Bunker is a fairly short FMV game but it is well executed. The cast is great and it looks and sounds nice. If you like psychological thrillers you'll want to check this out.

Solid FMV experience

The Bunker is a beautiful gem of a game. However, I wouldn't call it a game so much as an interactive movie, though it deserves its place on the shelf of gaming goodies for what it's achieved, and what might be created from its (hopeful) success. Basically, the game takes place in a nuclear bunker, which you already know because you read the game description before reading this review to see if it's worth the money you're thinking about paying for it. I can assure you, providing you don't mind a game that is light on interactive elements, but tells a kickass story, you won't mind even paying full price for this game. Keep in mind the game is between 2-3 hours long, and there isn't a lot of replayability to it. Saying that, the ride it provides on your first playthrough is amazing, and I am planning on playing through it again soon to see what I missed the first time. I guess the question is, do you feel this piece of art (because it's more art than a game, though it qualifies as both) is worth $20 full price, or less on sale? The acting is good, the production values are better than some movie releases I've seen, and it's an interactive experience. Could the formula be improved? Sure, but this is a good story to be part of.

The perfect template for future FMV gaming!

Just when you thought gaming was getting old, or am I just getting too old for gaming? Any shred of doubt I did have is out the window. The Bunker had me on the edge of my seat with spot on acting, excellent transitions, beautifully rendered scenes, balanced storyline, non-overly-complicated controls that even the newest of gamers can pick up and play! If only Sega had these guys and their resources on their team back when games for the SegaCD were being developed... Such a nice breath of fresh air.....to see multiple ending options, which I have yet to discover, except one. A little short but well worth the asking price! You need this game in your life! Truly a masterpiece and I want more!!!!!

FMV is alive again !

This FMV is between 2 to 3 hours (depending on how quick you explore) and is quite good. The acting is outstanding, the music helps raise the suspense level, the story is well written and the environment is amazing. However my biggest disappointment is the gameplay: button controls are not very clear(when to repeat tapping, drag and drop, click and hold, or just one click button) and kinda takes you out of the story. There were also points where I had to restart the game because I missed a click and was stuck in a play back loop( baby breathing and doll playing at the top of the stairs). I am sure this will get patched out being that this is being written one day release. My last point is the price point seems a bit high(19.99 full price), if the was down around 15.00 then that would be better.
