What would you say about mixing simulator game with strategy and RPG? Sound strange, but it's actually very unique and yes, that's The Guild 2. With fantastic setting on medieval age, very interesting game mechanics it's truly amazing experience. Still, if you are fan of previous game, you could feel like it's worse. Also, which is probably most annoying thing, this game is filled with bugs. You will also get many game crashes, so it can be really discouraging to play a game. If you want to try something different, something that you haven't played yet, try The Guild 2. While graphics and other stuff feel outdated, it's not really old game. Give it at least a try, it's worth it.

Playing this game frustrates me. It has so much potential and ultimately falls short. The graphics are pretty good for the time. You take control of a family in medieval times and lead them to greatness. Own a tavern, create a trade empire, run for mayor, pillage trade routes: there are tons of options. Unfortunately, they are play pretty much the same. You can woo a woman or man and start a family, training your kids and putting them into business. Overall, its an enjoyable game, especially with the expansions, which are a must buy. A fun game, but one that ultimately falls short of expectations. Its amusing, but it could have been so much more.

The Guild II is one of those games that either has you ripping your hair out in frustration or laughing maniacally like a villain. You build your dynasty while trying to crush all others, and they do the same. You can assassinate people, sabotage buildings, and even run for office. If someone does harm against your family, you can accuse them in court and gather evidence against them. They'll do the same if you decide to send a dozen of your goons to whack'em on their walk home at night. Nearly every building you can build/purchase can be upgrade, some far more than others. Upgrades allow you to have more workers, or thugs if it's a house, and offers various functions. Upgrading a house can give you the ability to send thugs to plant bombs or spy on enemies. Upgrading a work shop can grant you more space for supplies and more employee slots, so you can make money faster. One feature that is an absolute godsend is allowing the AI to manage individual buildings. Without it, you are required to micromanage every action. Also... ALWAYS buy more carts. At full speed production of a map wide dynasty, every street is covered in the color of your dynasty. The sheer amount of back and forth is impressive. Your success, however, will earn you enemies. Enemies that might come for you, your spouse, or even your kids.

Have you played Runescape? This game is some kind of weird runescape, tho its a little hard to understand, there is what people call a learning curve, but if you have time, then its really fun. Its like a medieval strategic Sims. Point in the game is you making yourself the greatest (i think). I would call it a weird RPG medieval simulator, it has a lot of options, so you can make your own story, and I find that amazing. You can buy two copies and play LAN with friends or family, the game doesn't needs too much computer power, so you could be hours immersed in the game playing. Graphics ain't super, but if you are here for what the game offers in a much more intellectual way, then this is it, buy it, besides it really cheap. Hope you like it. 

This game is what you might expect – very similar to the Sims but set in medieval times and very focused to the individual aspects of medieval life. The game play is quite profound and complicated but any keen and advanced gamers should have no problems with it after a couple (or maybe a little bit more) plays. I would definitely not recommend if you do not like strategic games as you are mainly rewarded in the game for playing strategically. The tutorial isn't great, it shows you more what buttons to press rather than teach you the game. The graphics are good but the game has a few little bugs and glitches, although this didn't affect me too much. I like the new feature that you can choose more of a rogue path as a thief as most games don’t let you choose the darker side, even though they are normally included in the game as AI. Overall a good game but could have been so much better.
