Reviews for The Interactive Adventures of Dog Mendonça and Pizza Boy

Good environments but poor acting and may disappoint fans

The Interactive Adventures of Dog Mendonça & Pizzaboy is a point and click adventure games with a supernatural detective theme, it is based on the graphic novel published in the US by Dark Horse. I am not familiar with the series so I don't know how well it fits with the books though I doubt they would be happy that the game primarily stars Eurico with you attempting to find out why Dog disappeared after the opening and the other two characters taking small supporting roles. The voice acting is not very good and can often feel stiff and unnatural, the graphics are good with detailed areas but animations leave something to be desired (there is even an early joke about the developers not wanting to add more of them) and you don't get to interact with many objects. It could have used a warp feature to move through areas faster when you double click on exits, you move very slowly. The humor can be good but is sometime hurt by poor delivery. The game is about six hours long. It's a decent adventure game but nothing great.
