INDIE DEVELOPED FAST PACED ACTION, ARCADE-ADVENTURE!
The Story Goes On is an action-packed adventure game set in an endless maze known as the Odyssey.
Developed by Scarecrow Arts, The Story Goes On is the team’s debut game. With a huge emphasis on community feedback via the Early Access program, the game is shaping into a unique rogue-like experience.
Progress at your own pace
The Story Goes On never binds player to a specific pace. Almost every event, puzzle, and fight can be completed as fast or slow as you’d like.
Every item is designed to add to your experience, and may shift the way you play. From combat enhancements to new ways of traversing puzzles, items in The Story goes On are laid out to work with each other and grant the player cool item combinations every time they play.
A beautiful soundtrack that reacts in real-time to the environment; escalating from calm to intense depending on the room the player enters in their unique play-through.
Randomly Generated Worlds
A majority of the game’s combat and worlds are randomly generated per play-through. While the overarching story remains constant, the player will discover it in their own way.
Story-Based Pre-Built Dungeons
Inside every randomly generated world is a matching pre-made dungeon that introduces new mechanics, enemies and story elements into the main game. From transforming into a ghost to navigate a haunted mansion, to riding a bling’d out minecart to freedom, you find these locations hidden in the worlds, concealed by puzzles.
This is a very interesting game that gives you some really nice challenges. Even the kid of my neighbor who is 5 years old was able to defeat this game and he had so much fun that he cried when he needed to go home. The game is in early access, but it looks (unlike many other) pretty fine to me. Hopefully, the developers will continue the development and make a nice 2D game out of this sometime in the future.
The Story Goes on reminds me a lot of the original Zelda. it's a top-down adventure where you're dropped in and left to fend for yourself. You go from screen to screen finding new places to explore, baddies to beat, and items to use. The difference being, of course, that it's randomized so you can never memorize it like so many people have done with the aforementioned game.
This game is a very intresting take on a binding of issac style game. i am in love with the art style and the gameplay is very tight. The use of enviroments and the everchanging levels really get your heart going let alone the almost dark souls intensity of the bosses. A couple graphical hiccups keep it from reaching a much higher pinnacle but for fans of the boi series and are just looking for a quirky and fun action game look no further.
