"The environments, repetitive though they are, are simply stunning." - ign.com

A hardcore strategy game about World War 2 , challenges player's skills and It has got a good historical campaign. But the sad thing is controls are so hard and confusing. That's really hard to control the camera. Also, Objectives of missions are not so clear and hard to understand. It has a lot of campaigns but graphics are outdated , of course. Sound is not so good as expected. Finally , music is good enough and exciting. If you are interested in World War 2 and strategy games , you can purchase this game. But there's better WW2 games, you know.
I don't know what everyone else is saying about great graphics and all. The characters and tanks on my screen look almost god awful. I am glad i got the game on sale because i am going to delete it. The AI behaves funky, not following orders, or wandering. Polish antitank guns take my tanks out from miles away it seems before my guys can even fire on them. The 20 mm cannons on the Panzers really didn't do much. The artillery, is just god awful. I called on it on more then several occasions and i realized it was just a wasted effort. kudos for realism, but garbage for the game play.
Who remembers the old strategy games from Command Mission series? They were some of the most realistic and detailed battlefield simulations in World War 2 setting. Unfortunately their visuals and audio don't stand up to current standards of today, but there are worthy successors of their heritage. The Theatre of War series may be something like the Combat Mission games used to be, but better suited to modern gamer's needs. The first game of the franchise is a serious strategy game, which allows you to zoom in to the battlefield and oversee every detail of ongoing battles. With great visuals and accurately represented sounds, it becomes as believable as World War 2 strategies have ever been. It's not a casual RTS like the Company of Heroes games, but more of a serious and involved game which will demand some learning and practise from you, but will pay it back with satisfaction and joy that you will find in playing it.
