In Expansion II: Survival, endure as long as you can in a very hostile environment and brutal weather conditions. In a blizzard, everything you can find becomes a vital resource! This new mode will challenge even the most talented agents.
Cold, stripped of gear, and beset by a brutal snowstorm, you must survive until extracting safely in the Dark Zone. Finding warm clothes and survival equipment will be vital to your success. However, the environment is not the only danger out there; beware of other agents and deadly Hunters prowling in the area if you wish to make it to the end.
This expansions drops you in the game with no gear but a pistol and fighting off a serious ilness. You have to craft clothes to keep warm and weapons to survive. I enjoy playing this (in PVE) as you can run around for ages, taking out NPC's and leveling up your character before jumping in to the dark zone. This is a good change from the main game, as your character level doesn't matter since you start off with nothing. Allowing you to get high gear level items/weapons. The end game of this can be challenging, having to beat a boss before being able to extract safely with your loot. Plan for this and make sure you have good armor and weapons before heading for your extraction. It's easy to get lost in this, as you don't need to rush (the longer you last, the more points you get) I have this as part of the season pass and would definitely recommend as a standalone expansion but the season pass is worthwhile also (3 expansions + gear/clothes + skins).
Quite a fun gamemode to play. I had have usually played games such as survival mods on Arma and DayZ, so this game felt quite enjoyable. What is nice about Expansion, is that the game doesn't require a lot of hours of investment to be able to have good gear to fight and has an end where you can escape. Unlike the usual survival games. If you enjoy survival games and don't exactly have the time to invest hours into one, then this Expansion will fair you well.
I did the unthinkable...I pre-ordered a ubisoft game...I KNOW I KNOW, no need to kill me...the thing is..until last week...this game was just awful, almost unplayble EVEN with friends which was very sad, I used to play it..every once in a while for 1 or 2 hours, BUT NOW after patch 1.4 I think this game is ALMOST ready to be played daily by the people that like it's style, the game still has it's bugs, which ubisoft will try to fix later on,there might still be a few exploits and all but not that many, after patch 1.4 I think this game is starting to go on the right path, for once I can say I'm proud of pre-ordering from Ubisoft, altough after "No Man's" Lie", I'll never pre-order ANYGAME ever again, for safety. Just so you guys know how playable the game is now compared to launch and up to 1.3, I bought the season pass yesterday because I knew I'd have FUN playing this game so It was a nice deal and the Season pass is almost as expensive as the game,so yeah. I rate this game (currently 1.4 patch) a 8/10, enjoyable with friends, fun and challenging when you are alone. Cons:The game needs EVEN more backstory to it,I find this whole scenario fascinating, to the point where I want to learn more more and more. Playing in the Dark Zone alone,is very risky, there needs to be a way so that if you are solo in the DZ,you get a small buff or something to help you run away from groups of rogues, maybe if you are alone you move (Insert percentage here) faster than everyone else. Pros: With friends AND the Underground DLC, this game has a 8/10 level of replaybility and daily play so you know grab a few friends and play it.Incursions which have very nice loot and daily rewards encourage partnership between players, which in turn makes making friends easier. That is all,my honest opinion,I've hated this game and I felt ripped off by Ubisoft, but now I can say that I will get my money back in playtime. Thank you all for reading.
I kept playing for 23 hours, thinking that the game would eventually get good. It does not. you spent a lot of time farming and it gets repetitive. the graphics are really nice and the soundtrack is great. overall this game is really fun for the first few hours but falls short of its content
Since the release of this originally, the vast portion of my time has been spent playing Survival, I find that it being so inefficient at rewarding loot is to it's benefit, whenever you extract and have 10 caches to open it's a very satisfying feeling. Not to mention some of the best ambient music I've heard in video gaming in years and some of the genuinely most tense and heart pounding moments I've had in a long time, as well as enjoyable and enthralling gameplay I can see myself coming back to regularly. Definitely worth my money.
