Develop your tiny village to a grand medieval empire with a thriving economy and happy villagers! Find spots for mining ore, harvest the crops of your farms and collect coins as taxes from your folk. Build jousting fields, taverns, marketplaces and beautify your city with impressive statues, magnificent monuments and lush gardens. But there are also dangers lurking close by. Bandits are in the area, looking to plunder and pillage your peaceful town. Build barracks, guard towers and recruit brave soldiers to protect your citizens from harm. You rule the whole empire from your castle and make sure your inhabitants have fun and stay happy!
Very nice city builder that reminds me a lot of the old Settler games, although a bit more simplified and casual, which is not a bad thing. Pretty stress-free for casual players, but with enough layers, complex supply chains, and such to satisfy more bits-n-bolts hardcore city planners. Comes with a solid library of scenarios and sandbox maps to fit most play styles, as well as RPG elements such as leveling up, enhancement and structure unlocks, quests, and optional tasks and goals. Some downsides are; no tool tips for easy referencing, and very clunky road building tools. But all in all, a very solid, stable, easy to get into game that could easily consume hundreds of hours of playtime, so well worth the asking price.
When I saw the game, then immediately I compared it to "War and Peace" (Knights and Merchants). And it did. Very much it for some reason it reminds her. The game is the spirit of the old economic strategies like "War and Peace", "Setlers," "Caesar," etc. On the surface it seems to "regular", but, surprisingly, the game is well-maintained, though, and came to Steam with mobile devices.Military Science of the game is reduced to a minimum - you do not need to build a ton of different soldiers and control them, everything will be automatic. There are some small flaws (it is unlikely to include it in the downside, although again they are unlikely to ispravyat in the future) related to the management, but to me they did not interfere. All lovers of economic policies -highly recommend.
I normally complain about mobile ports, but I've actually enjoyed this one, it's not bad, as a matter of fact, it's very relaxing, chill, and build away, watch as time goes by and your tiny village goes stronger, bigger and with a more crowded population.
Townsmen is a very casual city-builder. In a medieval setting you must harvest resources for town improvements, trade, deal with citizen happiness, and defend from bandits. It still has a very mobile game feel to it but the variety of resources and town improvements should keep you entertained for a while. It plays similar to something like Banished, just with a much simpler/mobile style gameplay. Nothing amazingly mind blowing gameplay wise. It is just very well made.
