The world is changing and Tropico is moving with the times - geographical powers rise and fall and the world market is dominated by new players with new demands and offers - and you, as El Presidente, face a whole new set of challenges. If you are to triumph over your naysayers you will need to gain as much support from your people as possible. Your decisions will shape the future of your nation, and more importantly, the size of your off-shore bank account.

Tropico 4 expands on the gameplay of the previous game with new political additions ∼ including more superpowers to negotiate with, along with the ability to elect ministers into power to help get your more controversial policies passed. But remember to keep your friends close and your enemies closer as everyone has an agenda! Your political mettle will be thoroughly tested, as new natural disasters will have the populace clamoring for you and your cabinet to help them recover from some of the worst Mother Nature can dish out.

Tropico 4 also brings a new level of social interaction with the addition of Facebook and Twitter integration (Windows PC version only). Post comments on Twitter direct from the game and have updates go out when you complete missions or unlock new achievements. You can even take screenshots of your burgeoning island and post your dream creation on your Tropico 4 Facebook page and compare your interactive Dictator Ranking on the online leaderboards.

Fun objective-based City Builder

FantasyHeaven

With the premise of being the president of a tropical island during the Cold War, the game pokes fun at dictators with a cult of personality through using caricatures of historical figures. The amusing radio commentary is a welcome background noise that should be present in more city builders. While it could be played as a conventional city builder in the vein of the Sim City franchise, what makes Tropico 4 shine is its story mode. It offers objective-based missions which provide guidance to players who are interested in city building but do not have a clear vision of what they would like to build. As someone who requires "gameplay" in their games, I consider Tropico 4: Collector's Bundle to be one of the most enjoyable of the city building games available.

Good

This game is clever at so many levels and it stands out from other economics/city building games with its satires and jokes revolving around a real world politics. With its ridiculous sense of humour, Tropico 4 delivers a funny yet inteligent management game, which allows the player to choose from a wide range of strategies to build it's dream island. The voices of each character match perfectly, giving the game so much character! Can't emphasize enough on this trait of the game, for the creator's choice of music, colors, building architecture, all come together as a unique experience of the era.

Good old Tropico

You will end up singing this game's soundtrack. I spent over 100 hours playing this game. It just caught me completely. Starting with a very small town and making it grow, happily, into a paradise island is something that isn't easy but it is very rewarding. You do have to play some of the tutorials just so you understand completely some of the game mechanics. The soundtrack is awesome but it can get repetitive after 100+ hours. The graphics are a bit cartoon-ish but they fit great with the game's environment. I liked playing free scenarios so I could shape my island the way I wanted. This being the Collector's Bundle, adds an amazing DLC; Modern Times. This DLC will expand your experience. The rest of the DLCs you get on this bundle aren't crucial but they sure add some fun to the game.

Become "El Presidente" of this cuban-ish town.

Be the ultimate dictator with this awesome and outstanding game. Now I want to take over my neighbor's garden and start my own government. Let's see: - You can be the dictator of this Cuba-like universe. - You can manage everything the way you want. - You can do whatever you want. - You can build your dream city. - Again, you can be a dictator. Who wouldn't want it? This is not the base game. This is the base game, plus almost all the DLC's. Fun guaranteed for a long, long time.

Good City Builder

mrkhill

I bought this game right after Sims City came out and had disappointing reviews. Many said that this was a better game if you want to have fun and they were right. While not a must buy it is very amusing to play for the first 20 hours. You run around your own island as a dictator controlling every aspect of the city. Simple to play yet a lot of fun. There are many different island types and terrains but the type of different buildings is a tad low. The simplicity comes at a price though, after playing a certain amount of time it starts to become repetitious. While not as long lasting as I hoped it is worth the money, especially at only 10 dollars. You Will not regret this purchase.
