The world’s greatest fighting game evolves to a whole new level with Ultra Street Fighter IV. Continuing the tradition of excellence the series is known for, five new characters and six new stages have been added for even more fighting mayhem, with rebalanced gameplay and original modes topping off this ultimate offering. As an additional bonus, enjoy all previously released DLC costumes! Get Ultra!
In Ultra Street Fighter IV, Poison, Hugo, Elena, Rolento and Decapre join the fight, complete with new animations and their own unique play styles, bringing the final roster count to a massive 44 characters. Six new battle environments (including Pitstop 109, Cosmic Elevator, Half Pipe and more) provide a thrilling and colorful backdrop to the action. In addition to the action-packed new content and the finely-tuned rebalanced gameplay, the new version features a host of new features and modes that are sure to test even the most well-traveled world warrior
Compared to the previous version, you get some more graphics, and a few extra characters, plus some stages. So there's nothing bad about it, but it's more like a dlc Still a good upgrade from Street Fighter 4. Multiplayer isn't that laggy (anymore), and the AI is fun. Seems that characters have been balanced better too
Once again, Capcom has released a new version of Street Fighter IV. This Ultra Street Fighters IV adds several new characters to the cast. Well, they are not totally new. These are the Capcom characters from the underrated Street Fighter X Tekken. It's the same thing for the new stages. However, Ultra is still a great game. The gameplay has been balanced again and you can play each version of the characters in the new Omega Mode. The online experience is really good thanks to the improved netcode. It's a fun and challenging fighting game and one of the best in the genre. Fortunatly it's the last version of SFIV, that's for sure, because Street Fighter V is on its way!
I waited a lot before writing this review because this awesome game is cursed by a really bad netcode implementation, I thought the issues could be fixed but since after 2 months the situation is almost the same I think things are going to remain like that forever. Anyway, let's start with everything else, we will get there eventually. The game is, as was SSFIV AE, one of the best fighting games ever made. The roster is huge and the gameplay of each character is unique (shotos share similarities ofc). Usually with a huge roster tier list gets crazy but in Ultra Street Fighter IV there are almost no impossible match-ups. Graphics are really nice and on PC you can customize even more game's graphic settings, music is really good (character bgm are better than stage bgm IMHO, but that's just for me) and SFX/announcer are part of what makes the game street fighter. Now let's talk about the netcode implementation. When you buy a fighting game you're not supposed to play alone by design. In 2000 you wouldn't expect the game to have any online mode implementation and you'd have struggled to search players at your level (it involved moving around your country a lot) to learn the game and eventually enjoy yourself. In 2014 you expect your game to be fully playable online since 30~40 ms ping values are totally bearable (it's more or less 2 game frames that should even be mitigated by the netcode). Sadly this is not the case. The netcode is bad and so the "mitigation" is completely missing (at least it feels like that) meaning that if you play with low ping values (let's say 40ms) outside ranked, the game plays fine, otherwise you will experience totally unplayable games. To recap, gameplay 10 (wouldn't make major changes), graphic 9 (it's old but on PC you can enhance it), music/SFX 9 (totally enjoyable), netcode 2 (well, read above)
This game is a must for PC fighting game enthusiasts. The inclusion of a few new characters adds to the already impressive roster, and the new 'Omega' mode breathes new life into familiar favourites - albeit at the cost of any semblance of balance! Many people have spoken about the poor netcode when playing online, but this has been improved to a significant degree of late. It's still not perfect however, so take that into consideration. If you're looking for a PC fighting game, this is the ideal place to start. You simply cannot go wrong.
In this game, a new Street Fighter appears, to me it is like the previous about the fun, but the graphics are much more wonderful. The soundtrack, although has changed a bit is still a weak point because it is quite repetitive, and makes the player get tired faster. The characters remain the same, with the same touch of humor, but much more developed, the colors are more vivid and leave the player immersed in the game all the time. The scenario also remained the same as the previous, with small changes, but also with a better graphics, what makes the game more beautiful. I definitely recommend this game to all undoubtedly a classic struggle that will remain forever in our collections.
