“No man has entered Castle Drachenfels for 20 years, but as you should know by now, the vermin are no men.”
Explore 3 NEW stunning adventure maps in this DLC for Vermintide, where you travel outside of Ubersreik’s walls to the Grey Mountains. Fight your way through the halls and chambers of Castle Drachenfels, adorned with the bones of victims long gone. Make your way through The Dungeons, sections of which are so dark, a torch is required to illuminate the trap riddled passages. Quell the Skaven reinforcement efforts by destroying the ancient portals on Summoner’s Peak.
While completing Drachenfels maps, you will have a chance to acquire two new rare weapons. With the semi-automatic Volley Crossbow for the Witch Hunter, you will be able to slaughter groups of Skaven at a time, while the lethal blade of the Waywatcher's Glaive can slice through any rat-men.
The Skaven are on the move, beady eyes set on the dreaded abandoned castle of Drachenfels. In this DLC for Vermintide, it’s up to our heroes to once again stop the Skaven army from fulfilling their vile agenda.
If you're a huge fan of Vermintide this dlc is worth picking up. If you're someone that got the base game just to play with friends you can probably skip this. Since you can play this if your friend already own the DLC. Again, it adds a bunch of content if you're into the game, but if you just want to run around with your buddies hack and slashing then I would not recommend this.
Vermintide Drachenfels adds three new maps and two new weapons to the game for a decent price. Like the previous DLC, owning this will allow you to invite your friends to join your game or allow your game to be joined by other people, even if they do not own the DLC themselves. The new content itself is going to be more of the same, obviously you will have the new areas to explore but you are going to be completing the same kind of tasks and fighting the same enemies as you were in the rest of the game. Only the dungeon map is going to be adding new mechanics like darkness into the mix, but even that isn't something that interesting. The environments themselves do feel different from the other levels in the game though. The Waywatcher and Witch Hunter are also able to get new weapons which is a nice addition on top of the maps. The glaive is going to be the most powerful weapon in the Waywatcher's arsenal and the volley crossbow allows the Witch Hunter to quickly fire bolts at his enemies. It's a shame a weapon wasn't added for the other three characters but if your are looking for more content and/or more weapons for the Waywatcher and Hunter then this will be well worth picking up.
