I played more with this games demo, then i did with full versions of others. This was my first Worms game, and I have such great memories about it. Sometimes we still play this with my wife, or my younger brother. I just love these spineless guys =) Oh, and the funniest thing is, you can set the worms to speak your language! And they speak it perfectly! I mean...if they made a hungarian version that is so funny, that we still laugh every time we hear it, or someone just quotes it, i can't imagine they left out any other language! :) Seriously, this game is great. I have it for like 3 different platforms, and i can't recommend it enough for everyone.
Worms Armageddon is a tactic game and you'll have a lot of fun with it. You are part of a team of worms and you have a lot of weapons to choose from to attack the enemy worms. You have to estimate the power and the direction of your shots while considering weather conditions and distance. There are even very cool missions which become harder and harder after each other.
From all the games in the Worms series, 26 in total (talk about milking the franchise 'till it starts giving out powdered milk), Worms Armageddon is the best of the bunch. While the ones that came before it were great and some of the 3D ones were enjoyable on their own, such as Worms 3D and Worms 4 Mayhem (but not Worms Forts Under Siege... we don't talk about Worms Forts Under Siege), Team 17 nailed every single aspect of how a Worms game should be. Pros: -s**tload of weapons and tools for you to use in order to obliterate and screw over your opponent with the final goal of putting him into submission and making him your b***h. Or end up a b***h yourself (hey, I don't judge if you're in that kind of thing) -tons of customizable options such as flags, gravestones and soundbanks AND you can import your own stuff -the soundbanks are funny and never get old so that's a + on their own -many maps to massacre your opponents on and it even comes with a random level generator (there are multiple themses for them) AND you can even make your own levels ingame AND last but not least, you can import your own stuff -make your own schemes and set your own rules for the match -the movement of the worms, the physics, the destruction of some of the weapons; these things just click, feel right... something that Team 17 never mastered in their newer 2D Worms games -IF you have friends and if they actually came to your place, you can play WA with them, goes well if you had a few beers or passed a few blunts. This is more enjoyble than watching some crappy remake/reboot movie (but not more enjoyable than and orgy, especially a blood orgy... never more enjoyable than a blood orgy) -IF you live in a country with internet, you can play online, either with total strangers that will not shy away to use the same vocabulary that a 10 year old would use in CoD or CS: GO OR some creep that will ask for your age, sex and where you're from; you can also play with your virtual friends (which could also be 10 years olds and creeps but hey... they are your friends, not mine so I won't judge) -this game can and will run on your granny's PC so there's at least something to look forward to when you're forced by your parents to visit her (so that they can have the house for themselves, invite friends, get drunk/high and play Worms Armageddon themselves... nah, just kidding, it's a blood orgy) Cons: -You can lose in this game and can become someone's b***h (but again, not gonna judge if you said you wanted that all along)
I don't have many hours logged on this version yet, but I logged so many back at the turn of the millennium. This is, for me, the best Worms experience. Excellent weapon selection, single player deathmatch ladder, and customizations (without having to unlock with coins...). This is brilliant and one of my favorite games of all time, it' fun for hours, I remember playing against my brother years ago, but now I just play against the computer for fun. I thought training was a little too hard to pass, my grenade throwing skills still need a lot of work though.
Said to be the pinnacle of Team17's popular turn-based strategy game series, Worms Armageddon is an old classic that still remains as entertaining as it was in the 1990s. Thanks to continued support in the modern day, the game today even supports widescreen gameplay (with only the minor caveat of a stretched menu). It has a plethora of classic weapons, crazy physics, lots of strategic depth, and a huge opportunity of laugh-out-loud moments. The best thing about Worms Armageddon however, is the vast customization options for players' teams of worms, allowing more creative types to add their own speechbanks, victory themes, flags, and gravestones to go along with whatever team and worm names they can come up with. As said by some players, the multiplayer Wormnet system is kind of archaic, but it works when there's an online multiplayer itch to scratch. It is best played with friends locally, so if you're looking a fun multiplayer game with depth and humor, Worms Armageddon is an easy choice.
