Fighting game fans rejoice, because Dead or Alive 6 Last Round is on its way.
Unlike many upcoming releases, this one is a bit of an oddity. Rather than being a brand-new entry, Dead or Alive 6 Last Round is an enhanced rerelease of the 2019 fighter. Even so, it looks set to offer plenty of reasons to jump back into the arena.

Last Round launches on 25 June 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
Those platforms are hardly surprising, though it is a little disappointing that there is currently no Nintendo Switch 2 version planned.
The game is also expected to launch at a lower price than most modern AAA releases. That should make it appealing to returning players and newcomers alike.
Whether the new additions justify another purchase is up to you. However, the lower price point certainly helps.

At its core, Dead or Alive 6 Last Round is a fast-paced 3D fighting game where two combatants battle it out to claim victory.
The simple premise hides a surprising amount of depth. Alongside its distinctive character designs, the series is best known for its blend of combo-driven combat and interactive arenas.
The action is packed with spectacle. Stage transitions can see fighters crashing through windows, tumbling down buildings, or smashing into environmental hazards before the fight continues.
Every character comes with their own strengths and weaknesses. Familiar fighting game archetypes such as grapplers, strikers, and balanced fighters all make an appearance.
Learning a specific fighter is essential, however. The move lists are extensive, and understanding how attacks interact is key to mastering the game.
Special moves and power meters also return. Build enough meter and you can unleash devastating attacks capable of turning the tide of a match in an instant.
Story mode may not be the main attraction, but it is still here.
As things stand, Dead or Alive 6 Last Round appears to use the same narrative as the original Dead or Alive 6. That means players should not expect any major new story content.
Instead, you will follow the individual story arcs of the game’s roster and see how their journeys unfold.
Kasumi once again takes centre stage. Having left behind her life as a Mugen Tenshin ninja, she is trying to forge a different path for herself.
Unfortunately, events surrounding the previous Dead or Alive tournament have placed her firmly back in the spotlight. Much of the story follows the consequences of that attention and the challenges that come with it.
