Realm Of Ink Gives Hades Meets Chinese Mythology

Realm of Ink spent a long time in Early Access, but its full release proves the wait was worthwhile. It has now firmly established itself as one of the most compelling action roguelikes around.

There is more than a hint of Hades here. Realm of Ink is an isometric action roguelike with a story that unfolds across multiple runs. Each attempt reveals new details, slowly pulling you deeper into its world and mysteries. Rather than relying on Greek gods, however, your power comes from mastering ink.

As you combine different colours of ink, you’ll unlock Ink Pets that fight alongside you. These companions are directly influenced by your upgrades, making each decision feel important. Choosing the right upgrades can dramatically change how your build performs.

The further you progress, the more options become available. New characters, weapons, and playstyles steadily open up, giving you plenty of reasons to keep experimenting. Each character brings their own strengths and weaknesses, while different weapon combinations create a huge amount of build variety.

If build crafting is what you look for in a roguelike, Realm of Ink delivers in spades.

It also happens to be a gorgeous game. The art style looks fantastic both in motion and at rest, while the enemy designs fit perfectly within its beautifully realised world. Realm of Ink is a constant visual treat, even when the screen fills with projectiles, explosions, and chaos during the later stages of a run.

The bosses can be brutally challenging too. As the difficulty ramps up, encounters demand quick reactions and careful positioning. Players who enjoy overcoming tough fights will find plenty to love here.

Realm of Ink is an excellent action roguelike packed with replayability, style, and satisfying progression. Between its deep build variety, engaging combat, and striking presentation, it offers dozens of hours of entertainment.

It certainly doesn’t hurt that the audio is equally impressive. Combined with its stunning visuals, it helps create an experience that is as stylish as it is addictive.
