Valheim has been the standout hit for early 2021. Taking the gaming world by storm this open-world, survival, building game has already sold over 5 million copies. For an early access game only a few months old, it’s an incredible achievement. One of the main goals in Valheim is to defeat the bosses scattered across the huge world and hiding within specific biomes. Here are all of the Valheim bosses and how to summon them.
Eikthyr
First up on the Valheim boss list is the giant deer/stag Eikthyr.
Biome: Meadows
How to summon: Place two deer trophies on the altar.
Rewards: Hard antlers, Eikthyr trophy, Eikthyr power
From the moment you start your Valheim survival, Eikthyr is ready to be taken on. The stag’s spawn point is usually quite close to where you are dropped off but it wouldn’t be wise to dive right into battle. Getting some basic armour and weapons will be needed to take Eikthyr on.
Eikthyr has a number of different attacks with a ranged lightning attack, and a close up AOE lightning attack that it will try and stomp you with. It will also try and ram you using its antlers.
The Elder
This big tree is Valheim’s second boss and in order to find its location you will need to interact with runes stones found in burial chambers. However, you can also just stumble upon it’s spawn point.
Biome: Black Forest
How to summon: Burn three ancient seeds on the altar.
Rewards: Swamp key, Elder trophy, Elder power
The Elder also has three attacks in its arsenal. A ranged attack where it shoots vines at you. Should you stand too close it will try and stomp on your head. Finally, The Elder can summon roots to spawn from the ground that will damage you.
Bonemass
Next up on the Valheim boss list is the goopy looking Bonemass.
Biome: Swamp
How to summon: Place 10 withered bones on the altar
Rewards: Wishbone, Bonemass trophy, Bonemass power
To find where Bonemass is hanging out you need to interact with runestones found in the swamp crypts – accessed using the swamp keys from The Elder. Once you’ve found this mass of goo and bones you’ll want to watch out for its toxic vomit attack which causes poison damage. He will also swat you with a melee attack if you get too close, Bonemass can also summon enemy skeletons and other nasties to fight alongside him.
Moder
Moder is next and is a big ol’ dragon/wyvern boss who lives in the mountains
Biome: Mountain
How to summon: Take three dragon eggs to the altar
Rewards: Dragon tears, Moder trophy, Moder power
If you’re looking to find Moder you will have to check out stone buildings in the mountains and find the runestone within. You’ll need some cold resistance to even hang out for an extended period of time in the mountains so take some time to prepare.
Moder has numerous attacks including a melee attack where she will smack you with her claws, she can also launch projectiles from her mouth that crystalize upon impact. Finally, Moder can use her Blizzard breath which causes a slow effect.
Yagluth
Yagluth is in final Valheim boss and is a massive skeleton that crawls around after you.
Biome: Plains
How to summon: Use five fuling totems at the altar
Rewards: Yagluth “thing” a new material not implemented yet, Yagluth trophy, Yagluth power
To take on the final challenge you need to find stone structures in the Plains biome and interact with the stone tablet. The structures in question can look a bit like stonehenge. Like the others Yagluth has a few attacks to look out for. First, is a flamethrower like attack they Yagluth can breath on you. Next up are two different melee attacks, one of which causes AOE damage and the other summons in a meteor shower.
