Blood Bowl: Chaos Edition feels more like DLC for Legendary Edition that game on its own. But if you have never own a game from Blood Bowl series, this is the version you want to get. It has everything LE has and adds up three new teams (Chaos Dwarves, Underworld and Demons of Khorne), one new stadium and one new game mode making this one currently most complete version of the series (at least until Blood Bowl 2 comes out). While veterans could skip this title if not interested in new teams, a new players should buy Chaos Edition. A very fun and enjoyable mix of strategy and sport game awaits.
Have you heard of the board game version of this video game? Well, this is still very much a board game, make no bones about it. If you wanted more of an action-type game, don't bother--the real-time adaptation of the game leaves much to be desired. The meat and potatoes is the turn-based version. If you like board games, chances are you'll really dig this game. The mechanics are clever and keep the action tense. There's tons of dice rolling, but there's also a ton of luck-mitigating factors to make a serious strategy game out of it. Skill plays a dominant role both on the pitch, and off it. Expect to grow an RPG-like attachment to your team as you watch it grow in size and ability through the seasons, and be ready to cry some large nerdy-man-tears when your star players get killed, never to play again. Nevertheless, tons of strategy and hours of fun--IF you're into strategy/board games, comfortable with a fantasy setting, and care enough about sports to laugh at it. Likely a seven or more if this applies. If this does not apply, you'll likely rate this no higher than 40%. Sounds and visuals will get repetitive. And since you won't fall in love with the mechanics, you probably won't come back.
Big news in the game compared to Legendary Edition there are none, that there are no significant changes since the last edition were updated to the current rules of Blood Bowl. In fact, a real novelty is that now the roster of the teams has increased, with the addition of three new teams: Chaos Dwarf, Underworld Team and the latest Daemons of Khorne. These choices are very welcome: finally in the game you can try the picturesque Chaos Dwarfs, very useful and versatile team in the game board, and the Underworld Team, is one of those three teams unofficial but recognized (With Chaos Pact and the Slann), for the first time can be seen in the game. Team combining Skaven and goblins with the help of mutations; Daemons of Khorne, are authentic New to this edition, this is a new team created specifically for the game.
If you are looking for something quite unique and you are bored of playing the same games, try this one. Ive never seen a game like it ever since I played it, and it is worth spending a few bucks on it. Good game, and you can play multiplayer which is always fun.
