Darksiders 2 a bit prettier

Darksiders series just has this quality that really appeals to me. I love the heaven vs hell stuff, and Darksiders gives a great spin to the biblical setting. Darksiders 2 stars Death, one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. He wants to free War, his brother who we played in the first game, who has been imprisoned because he is thought to be the reason earth was destroyed. So Death makes a deal to restore mankind so War gets to go free. Death is a nimble fighter, using scythes as his main choice of weapon. Combat is really fun and rewards skill. You can stumble on some bosses very early on that might seem impossible, but if you're good enough with dodges and attacks you can take them out very early on. Darksiders 2 is just a really fun action puzzler, the setting is interesting, story is good, characters are fun.

The 2 Things You Can't Avoid, Death and Video Games

What do you mean it's death and taxes? Well, it should be video games as you can't avoid Death in this one since he is the main character who rains death down upon those who stand and face him. This game doesn't get boring as fast as some games similar to this does and with the graphics, music and gameplay backing up the horseman of death, you probably really should consider buying this game. I love it and for only $6.00 right now, you would be crazy to pass it up.

If you like a hack n slash mixed with RPG, play this game.

I really appreciated the artistic direction of the first Darksiders though I did find it a bit too drawn out particularly at the end. In the sequel, many things were polished making for a better balanced game from start to finish. In a beautifully designed world, you find yourself immersed in a unique narrative though not without its cliches and nods to other games. In the first it felt a lot like a new and improved Zelda especially in the puzzle-like dungeon designs. Too, you found hints of Portal towards the end. In DSII there are continuations of these similarities but with some nice twists including a full section where, honestly, you are in FPS mode seemingly as a nod to many popular games of this generation. The game did hold together in a fairly balanced way though as time grew on things did get a bid tiresome. Yet, not near as tiresome as the first DS where 4-5 hours in the final portion of the game just drew on endlessly. Here the balance of puzzles and generally solid boss fights made for a fairly fun game. The RPG elements of the game were a nice additional bonus though all too often newly found items were worthless. As well, it was rare to ever need something from any of the stores throughout so the real power of the game simply came in its power chains which allowed you to have a variety of fun combat skills. Not until the end did I open up the coffins to have some additional fighters on the battlefield and I sort of wished I did more of this from the start. Samael was definitely a better fit for a final boss as everything about him was more challenging, more interesting, and simply more in tune with what you would expect. That is to say, the final boss you encounter after him is such a breeze and an utter joke that you feel like it was entirely tacked on just to wrap up the story. Too, with a game this long you'd expect a bit better developed closing sequence which also wound up being a disappointment. Overall a good game but I left wishing things were wrapped up a bit better considering all the goodness that was up to those final stages. If you're a fan of the first DS and, well, God of War, Zelda, Portal, etc you might just find yourself enjoying this one.

Epic: Only word to describe this game.

Combat is simply awesome and is on par with top notch titles like God of War and Devil May Cry. Graphics are significantly better than the original release. Soundtrack is one of the best I have ever heard. While the story is just alright, the lore is excellent. The DLC integration is well done and Gunfire has made many minor gameplay changes which greatly refine the experience. Death himself as a character is just amazing and his sarcasm will appeal to almost everybody. Michael Wincott (his voice actor) should receive an award for doing such a good job.
