For me, this one is better than GTA ! OK, I understand that bumping on a pole (street lights) with a bike should crash the bike & not the pole, but this is just a game. After all, I don't think there is a game in which, by playing under normal & not 'cut throat' difficulty, could have you killed with just a single shot like it happens in real life & I definitely don't think that anyone could drive as frenzy as in the game without being killed or kill someone else & if bumping on any street sign could blow up your vehicle then it would certainly not encourage you to try a mission again & again. So, the realism level is not a huge priority for the games, if you ask me, but rather how fun & addictive they are. And this one is highly fun & addictive with dozens of things to do in an open-world environment! Not to mention its almost perfect graphics! The work that is done, counted in time & effort, is clearly shown. The sun, the rain, the dawn & dusk, the vehicles looks from a distance, they are all pictures for living room frames! I believe we should encourage companies producing projects like these in order to see maybe a second, more improved title coming out. My only remark, if any, would be the in-game menu & throwables (bombs) activation controls for PC & maybe also having more active, passing-through buildings & less repetitive missions.
Watch_Dogs is a solid production that can deliver few hours of decent games. However, despite some really interesting innovations, the game becomes repetitive after some time. You can say it's a typical Ubisoft title because as always the developers instead of polishing their productions, prefer to invest in their loud advertising campaigns. Watch_Dogs had a lot of potential, but it was not used and we just got a decent game that could have been so much better.
The most funny and interesting trivia about this game is that it startet it's life as Driver game, only to be later renamed Watch Dogs. It's another open-world GTA clone with a twist - hacking. It is also little more puzzle oriented with how enemies and missions are designed and more stealthy. It is a shame that stealth is actually underplayed in this one, because it is most fun aspect in this game. Graphics are fine, so is the music, writing is simple done to death story, hacking itself and how you can use it to your advantage is a lot of fun. Downside of this game, though, is that while there are a lot of side activities, those are not much fun. Multiplayer part, though, is smart. Pretty good game, but sequel did everything better. Still, this game is worth giving it a shot.
Watch Dogs is one more GTA-like game, but with a little different approach to the action and missions. In potential this was very promising game, with original idea, but unfortunately failed in couple of important segments. Let's start from the story...Main character is successful hacker Aiden Pearce whose mission attracks attention of some really bad guys, they decide to show him who is the boss and by mistake kill his little nephew. After some time he decides to revenge her death...story is very shallow and cliche... Gameplay is not so bad, but from what we've expected we got so little... From hacking traffic lights, personal phones to cameras and computer systems, you will find use for only few of these... Game mechanics are pretty solid, except the driving that can be very frustrating even with gamepad controller. Controls are very good, and gameplay is fluid. Graphics are great, lot of detailed textures, but the game is not optimized well. Even for the open world game that are known to be hungry for graphics memory this is a bit much... All in all, solid game, but lot of bugs, unoriginal story and many unused potentials will probably make game forgettable for many players.
Watch Dogs was a big expectation due to its revolutionary system of hacking mixed with classical sandbox-gangsta feeling. As for me, most of these expectations were met - if not 100% fulfilled then at least done properly. This game totally refreshed the boring, old gameplay style from GTA and similar releases. Hacking everything gives a lot of options and is such a nice fun! What's more important - the main character has a true story - a good one and a deep one - not like typical GTA characters - you know - rolling the streets with guns but without any real cause - just to become a "cool gangsta". Aiden Pierce fights FOR SOMETHING and BECAUSE OF SOMETHING. He's also very different when it comes to style - he's cool, professional, patient and doesn't look like being taken from some cheap hip hop video or from the stereotypical slums. Seriously, he's more like a guy between Bourne and Liam Neeson. Watch Dogs has my full recommendations - 9/10. While the new part - Watch Dogs 2 is just an amazing gameplay, the first Watch Dogs offers a better vibe, mood and style. Of course - from the certain perspective.
