Something original and interesting in this day and age

It's a bit difficult to explain why I was immediately hooked on this game but know that it did. Speaking specifically of the single player experience here: It is a digital board game in which you play as the leader a gang of thieves who want to conquer the city. Obviously, before the rival thief gang does. To do this you must take control of different buildings in the city, using several types of units: from orphans to gangs. But as the leader of the thieves, it is your duty to do the exploration of the alleys, neighbourhoods and buildings of the city and then send your units there. At the same time, you must earn enough money to buy units, and enough "lamps" to buy skill points and become stronger. How you manage your resources will dictate mostly whether you are victorious or not. At the same time, you must have a certain strategy in approaching the enemy, guess what you are doing and where you are going, and very important: do not let your gangs become stronger than yours. All this located in a Victorian England inspired by the works o Charles Dickens, with great and peculiar art and a palpable atmosphere. In addition, it was more difficult than it seemed at first because several phases of the campaign had to be played more than once. In total it took about 6 hours. Almost continuous, because I could not get away from the game. Not to mention that it also has a multiplayer mode. (Which I have not tried, but I can not think it will be bad). Personally, I find it a gem that is also a bargain, for this price.

Be the antihero this board needs

Antihero is pretty much turn based strategy game. While the game is heavily stylised to look like a board game, it is actually more like a strategy game rather than Armello. There are no cards or dice, only you and strategy. Art direction and graphics are pretty good and the sound is also very fitting. If you expect great single-player experience, you might be disappointed. It is incredibly short and is more like an introduction to the game mechanics rather than a story. It puts you in the mood, gives you purpose, but there is no story that is worth to talk about. It shows you how taking over districts and crooks work and basic mechanics like stealing and stealth works. While the gameplay is engaging, it is slightly disappointing that this game is all about multiplayer. As for MP part, there is not much of a problem finding someone online, although games like this are best enjoyed with friends. Overall, if you like board games in digital form or are a fan of Catan board game, pick this one up, you should not be disappointed. Recommended.
