Aporia Beyond The Valley is a first person puzzle and platformer. You can interact with parts of the environment to solve puzzle and use light to open up new areas. Using light drains a meter you have that shows you how much you have left and more can be gained by finding items, you can also lose health if you do something like fall from a high place and recover that by finding healing items. The game's story tells of the fall of an ancient civilization through the use of the environment and without using any words, besides the areas you explore you can find pictures and slide show style animations that will tell you the story. This can become overly familiar over time when it starts off being more interesting and unique, it can also go to far with telling you exactly what happened rather than having you piece things together or to try to interpret meanings. The soundtrack fits the game very well, being more whimsical when exploring brighter lit areas in the middle of nature or eerie when exploring darker sections. The game also looks quite good though there can be some textures that load late. There can be an occasional glitch relating to movement around certain areas and the more open areas without any sense of direction can also be a turn off for some people. Worth a look if you enjoy this kind of game. This version includes the soundtrack and while the music is good and includes many tracks some of them can feel a bit similar and they aren't all likely to be something you would want to listen to on their own, even if they do fit the game's environments well. If you are interested in the soundtrack this is the best version to get as it will be cheaper than buying them both on their own.
