The Battlestations Collection includes the first Battlestations title and the expanded sequel Battlestations: Pacific in one twinned release.
Battlestations Collection includes:
BattleStations: Midway is an immense action game that drops players into massive air, sea, and undersea battles from Pearl Harbor to Midway. Players command massive fleet attacks and take direct, real-time, control of every plane, battleship, and submarine in the battle.
Battlestations: Midway's blends intense 3rd-person action with epic, large-scale naval combat and brings to life the great Pacific battles of the World War II. From the chaos of Pearl Harbor, through the Philippines, Java and the Coral Sea all the way to the epic Battle of Midway.
BattleStations: Pacific is the immense sequel to the critically acclaimed Battlestations: Midway. The innovative franchise returns to complete the entire Pacific War with two massive single-player campaigns, the historically based US campaign and a historically possible Japanese campaign.
Players will experience one war through two epic sagas to be a part of history or change it. Commanding the US Fleet, players relive the grandest and most critical naval battles of the Pacific War and for the first time, as the Japanese, players lead the IJN Fleet to a completely different ending to the war.
The Battlestations Collection includes two games, Battlestations Midway and Pacific. Both games are very similar, with the second game being a little more refined and boasting a larger, more detailed campaign. The Battlestations game straddle the line between not really being an arcade style shoot em' up, but also not really being sim quality. I would best describe the games are being action strategy, with correct units and locations, but less than realistic physics and tactics. That being said, both games are fun to sit back and lay waste to enemy ships, aircraft and installations. Some strategy comes into play here, and missions can be challenging to complete. Graphics are somewhat fuzzy, but useable. Sound is good, and the amount of gameplay is worth the price. Variety and action are the name of the game here, and the collection is a great value for your buck.
