From the creators of Rise of the Triad and legendary game maker 3D Realms comes Bombshell, an action role-playing game. Bomb disposal technician turned mercenary for hire, Shelly "Bombshell" Harrison must strong-arm her way across 4 planets in an Unreal Engine-powered galactic adventure to rescue the president from an apocalyptic alien threat. With out-of-this-world enemies, a never-before-seen arsenal of devastating weaponry and a host of genre-crossing mechanics, Bombshell is set to blow you away.
History in the Breaking
Be part of Bombshell's debut as she fights to save the president and her people from a maniac's mechanical monstrosity.
Brave New Worlds
Traverse the dying world of Kyrron as it's consumed by its neighboring sun, discover the secrets of a civilization frozen in time on the distant world of Zeroth and travel to the epitome of technology -- a villain's vision which threatens to consume all that exists.
Robot-Armed and Dangerous
Shell, shock and shatter your way through vicious, bloodthirsty predators, an augmented alien species, and the remnants of an ancient race re-animated, with more than 10 weaponized arm modifications.
Fierce finishing moves and interactive environments make Bombshell as dynamic as she is deadly.
Brilliantly brutal isometric shooting layered with classic role-playing mechanics, including experience points, upgrades, side quests, and non-linear levels. All with a twist of first-person shooter mechanics.
What Are You Lookin' At?
Yeah, she has a robot arm. Deal with it.

Had history gone another way, Bombshell might have been a good game, but sadly that version of history also requires 3D Realms keeping the Duke Nukem license, the latest Duke Nukem game being good, etc. So basically, Bombshell isn’t good. Bombshell is an isometric twin-stick shooter where you take the role of Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison who tries to be a female Duke Nukem (can you tell that this game was meant to be a Duke Nukem spinoff yet?) but with a robotic arm that doubles as every weapon in the game and fails miserably. The quips Bombshell constantly spouts out get tiring fast and the fact that her weapons are basically all references to the fact that she’s a woman (her rocket launcher is called the PMS) is groan-worthy. At least the music is nice. In terms of how the game plays there is nothing wrong with it, it’s just that it’s been done before and done better. You wander through fairly linear levels killing enemies and…that’s about it really. Sure there are special abilities and upgrade trees, but there isn’t too much special about the abilities and the upgrade trees…well ok those offer a bit of variety but really if you aren’t planning on playing through the game again, and really why would you want to play through the game again, they aren’t too important in the long run. Bombshell is not the fantastic return to form we were hoping from 3D Realms. If anything Bombshell might be a reason for them to reconsider their future plans.
Bombshell is the new action title from seasoned developpers 3D Realms. It's about a girl called Bombshell who is trying to save the president from an alien tyrant. To fufill her mission, she has to several planets and fight her way through a lot of enemies. But it's not a First Person Shooter. On the contrary, Bombshell uses an isometric point of view. This, and the few RPG elements, give the impression that you're playing the Scifi version of Diablo. It's fun, brutal and addictive. However, the game is not well optimised. If you don't have a very good PC, be prepared for some trouble running this game. Also, one might be bummed by the story or Bombshell herself. It's not as amusing as good old Duke Nukem. Bombshell could have been better, but it sure could have been worse. It's a pretty fun action game that deserves some love.
