Game description

You are an exile, outcast and downtrodden, sentenced to walk in a barbaric wasteland where the weak are crushed and only the strong can live. Here you must fight to survive, build, and dominate the world alone on your own server or with enemies and allies in online multiplayer.

Journey through a vast, seamless world filled with the ruins of ancient civilizations and uncover its dark history and buried secrets as you seek to conquer and dominate the exiled lands yourself. Start with nothing but your bare hands and forge the legacy of your clan, from simple tools and weapons to gigantic fortresses and entire cities. Enslave the bandits of the exiled lands to do your bidding by breaking them on the grueling Wheel of Pain. Sacrifice the beating hearts of your enemies on the blood-soiled altars of your god to seize true power and glory. Summon the colossal avatar of your god and see them lay waste to your enemies and their homes.

Just remember: in this brutal land of vengeful gods, bloodthirsty cannibals, and vicious monsters, survival is more than tracking down food and water. Explore mysterious ruins in search of treasure and knowledge, but beware the risk of your mind being corrupted by the dark forces of the world. Traverse vast sand dunes and seek shelter from scouring sandstorms sweeping across the burning sands. March into war against your enemies and unleash your savage fury in brutal combat. Go in unprepared and it will be your head rolling and limbs flying.

Conan Exiles is not an empty sandbox. It is a world rich in history where you must discover the knowledge and secrets of ancient civilizations as you struggle to build your own.

In the world of Conan the Barbarian, survival is more than being well-fed and hydrated. Here you must weather scouring sandstorms, save your mind from being corrupted and going insane, and fight vicious monsters from the darkest holes of the earth.

Journey through a huge, seamless world filled with danger and opportunity, exploring everything from sand dunes to towering ruins. Harvest resources to craft tools and weapons, then build everything from a small settlement to entire cities.

Explore shadow-haunted ruins of ancient civilizations and discover great treasures and knowledge. Learn about the people who inhabited this world before and what led to their demise through inscriptions, books, and the environment itself.

Drag the beaten bodies of your enemies back to your settlement, cut out their heart, and sacrifice it upon the altars of your god to earn their blessing. Summon impossibly huge avatars of the gods and see them crush the homes and will of your enemies.

Enslave the criminals of the exiled lands and force them to join your cause and defend your territory. Put them through the grueling Wheel of Pain to break their will, then turn them into archers, crafters, entertainers, and more.

March forth to war against your enemies, use explosives and see their fortifications crumble to dust, then unleash your savage fury with brutal attacks that will see heads rolling and limbs flying.

Play alone locally, or fight for survival and dominance in persistent multiplayer on public servers. Host your own server and invite others to join you in a world where you have full control of the rules and settings.

Idea is good but execution rather meh.

It's nice to see someone decided to use Conan world and turn it into survival game but for now it's rather difficult to say the gameplay is fun. Sadly it's because of the player base and the cheater infestation who ruin the fun for everyone. Game protection is simply not enough, perhaps devs will take the problem more seriously in the future, now I don't recommend.

Great game with a lot of potential

This is an awesome game! If you have ever played Ark or Rust, then you will like this game. Its a grinder but fun. I have been following the blogs on this game and the developers have a lot of things coming. To me, thats the fun part about games like this in early access... you grow with the game. As soon as it gets stale, they come with something new to keep you intrigued or excites you to keep you playing. I'm having fun with the game and even if I get burnt our, I see it as a game that I can keep on my PC and fire up from time to time. My friends and I even brought a server because we believe this game is going to get big, if not bigger then Ark! Only time will tell but for the price that GMG is giving it for under the VIP price, its highly worth it.

Ark sans dino's

I understand it's still early access, but truth be told its playing way too much like Ark. They do have some game mechanics and items that change the overall feel and look, but at the same time its just gather items to build camps or houses and wait for attacks from players, other npcs and animals, repeat rinse etc. The graphics are decent and only have a few glitches here and there until optimizations go in. The biggest positive is not adding dlc in EA.

Work to Do

I have 6 hours on the game and it's obviously an Early Access Game, I played on a couple different servers and in that the game does provide plenty of diversity, each server will have different setting (in terms of loot for example and that kind of stuff) and that does make each game more unique, some servers will make you focus on building resources etc other might push towards fighting other players, or maybe other will make it so that you and other people work together as team. I really enjoy that variety in choice. Although from what I've played so far the gameplay isn't that unique when compared to others of the same genre. It's very similar to ARK, the setting/theme is the only big difference. The crafting of new "recipes" that allow you to build more stuff, or help on combat does add some depth, and the part where you can get NPC's to make the shores for you, it's interesting but nothing new. Like I said it's an Early Access game so there is a lot that can be done to improve it, right now it's a decent game, you can probably skip it for now. (The community is quite nice from my experience)

Needed a lot more time in the oven

I got this from GMG when it was on discount pre-launch. Time will tell if I will ultimately regret that decision but right now the game is very unpolished. If has terrible server stability issues (official servers), lots of lag, freezes, serious stuttering even on a beefy gaming PC and apparently some pretty nasty exploits (although to be fair I haven't tried the PVP servers so I can't confirm if these exist). Leveling is slow and very grindy if you play on an official server without anything boosted. Harvesting is even more of a chore than in most survival games of this type. You will die a lot (mostly to lag). If you die, it is hit or miss if you can get to your corpse in time to get everything since you almost lag out most of the time when you access your corpse. If there are mobs around when you try to get to your body, this often just gets you killed again. It is difficult to find a place to try to build on official servers as the footprint left by structures placed by other players is quite large. People have clogged up the official servers with foundations and other small structures to prevent people from building or even putting down a portable spawning point. This can be a real turn off as the official PVE servers I tried to play on were littered with foundations and I had a hard time finding anywhere relatively safe to build that had easy access to water or any notable resource spawns. I would hold off on this title for a while and see if they can fix the game and add more content. Right now it has almost nothing to offer that really sets it apart from other survival/building games except for the Conan lore and the amusement factor of being able to toggle nudity and change your breast or penis size. It is like a buggier version of ARK without dinosaurs or any cool technology and considering how buggy ARK is, that should tell you something.
