Multi-genre soundtrack created by the talented Chris Christodoulou of the Risk of Rain OST
I'm a big fan of stealth and although Deadbolt is not 100% on stealth (I've found myself shot the entire magazine of the SMG to get through a level) the stealth mechanics are on point. The levels are challenging, after the first couple I had to repeat a lot of them to pass through. The enemy AI is very straight forward, if you get into LoS, if you use a shotgun or get caught by cameras you will get chase down, and unless you have a good gun equipment you will probably die. All around great game, good stealth + puzzle levels, with good difficulty and the suspense of being caught and using all you got to not lose. Strongly recommend
I absolutely love this title. Not only does it have an AMAZING soundtrack created by the talented Chris Christodoulou, but the gameplay is nothing short of fantastic. Think of it as the 2D, stealth, shooter version of dark souls. While the game feels a bit short, the price is entirely worth it (about 4-6 hours). The controls are very tight, responsive and give you an extreme sense of reward for completing a difficult level. Best advice anyone can give? Turn off the lights. Permanently.
Have you ever been so mad at inner city thugs, the italian and russian mafia, and greasers that you slaughtered all of them, and went all the way to hell to slaughter them again as zombies, vampires, skeletons, and demons in the employ of a mystical fire entity and it's candelabra legions respectively? If you can relate to that experience, you'd be happy to hear that you get to listen to the best game OST of 2016 (so far) as well while doing so. Worth every penny, especially for that soundtrack.
The reason I like these types of arcade 2D action games, and the best thing is the stealth style added into these games, Deadbolt has a wide variety of weapons from guns to going all berserk with a hammer, the story not widely used so it's kinda unique, and the action, well to me it was hilarious, and I think that's the point for such games because going all serious in the action moves will force it to compete with high budget titles like Mark of The Ninja and Shank, so it has to be different otherwise it will be crushed in such competition, and Deadbolt style is not developed in many games for the time being, but things would change in the future I guess, however, this game is available now and if you are looking for a funny and new way of 2D stealth action game then Deadbolt is a good choice.
